Wow! Ayala westgrove is a nice place for a photops. Its good that they opened their doors for photographers. Better grab the opportunity guys. I've been there before but I was not yet hobbyist. I hope I can get my DSLR in time for this event.

They did a similar stint last year with their Ayala Greenfields Estate project over at Calamba. Twas agreed that all listed participants would go shooting for one particular day and that they would be shuttled to the site. Things seemed ok until the organizer gave their nod to several people that it was ok for them to revisit the site tomorrow but that transportation arrangements will have to be on their own. This seemed to be unfair as earlier rules stated only one date for picture taking.

Now, this made me wonder. Was this really a photo contest with guidelines to follow or an attempt at soliciting pictures at lesser expense (meaning more submitted pictures generated from lesser known photogs with different viewpoints but with equally talented outputs VS. high-paying commercial/advertising photogs).

I was fortunate enough that one of my photo entered as finalist. A bigger print was now required and when time came to submit the entry, I was asked to show the receipt as they would reimburse the cost of printing. But not one soul from the organizer told me about it.

Then came awarding time. Again off to Calamba but unfortunately could not make it this time. I was in coordination with the organizer about my condition and they couldn't care less. As per the written "rules & regualtion" of the contest, I am due to receive a token from the sponsors. I tried contacting them and coordinating with them days after the awarding but to no avail. IMHO they kept the prize for themselves since i was not present during the awarding.

So to all those joining, best be aware!

Good point here. Maybe this is one of their strategies to lessen the costs of advertising. Thanks for sharing this. I hope the mechanics they will provide to everyone is crystal clear.

Well, for me, as a starter and hobbyist, if the place is good then it's a good place to practice shooting. Some of us can attend the event and be there for a photoops(EB) instead of a contest then proceed to Tagaytay for another session (drinking?).
