Full frame without an internal motor?? Doesn't sound like a good combination. Plus, lowering the price might even have bad effects on their market. Opposite than what they're expecting, probably.

I find this interesting as it will open full frame to more and new users but I find the price a bit optimistic.

Why is it a bad combination? Buyers of this possible D600 will be pushed to buy full frame glass with AFS. Lately, Nikon has been releasing reasonably priced primes.

I guess its fake. But if its true @ $1500, definitely a buy for me assuming the market is stagnant and no other game changer will challenge it at the time of launch. It will be a perfect upgrade to my D5000. I'm sure other consumer body users are thinking the same.

Sadly, all sources points to a rumor without base.

Well, there are a lot of good glass (es?) without the built in AF motor, so it would be a shame not being able to use those on a good body. It's one way to bring the price down, but personally, I'm not for it. Then again, it's Nikon's call. :p

NR confirms this is now 80% true
I wont mind the lack of BIM as long as its priced at around 60k

somehow i see a d7000 with an fx sensor in this. NR's add'l specs say it'll likely have 2 SD slots and 39 AF points.

yeah, me too. since my plan is to go all AF-S so the lack of BIM won't really matter. as long as it performs even like a D700 in a much lower price, this is really appealing to me.
