Need an advice pricing your photography service

just thinking about this for a long time, how do price your service base on the following:
1.model shoot
2.events(birthdays,family gathering,corporate,etc.)
3.weddings

with not so high end camera and gears or shall I say with just an entry level camera.
hope you can give me idea for this.

cost up on raw materials then compute for your standard packages. you should earn at least 20-25% from your gross sales.

In addition to cost of raw materials, include other costs of doing business, including paying yourself a "salary." Then add the profit margin that you can and want to earn.

I don't know about others but If you're starting....It's best to price yourself around 1.5K-2k for your TF only if doing portraiture works, usually it's 2 sets or a maximum of 2 hours....

but if they want print outs, cd of the pics then you may have to add around P300 more...

I usually get portraits at this rates.....

for weddings, my friend usually prices 32-33k, 1 videographer and 2 photographers....including abums, AVP, pre nup shoot, etc...

Hi. Sir Dennis, How about this. Someone asked me to do a glamour shot of their group. So I charged them P240 per head. They only need the cd of the pictures. Is the fee that I asked below? or just ok?

Hi Herbert, if the total amount you were paid more than made up for the things you had to spend for during the shoot (transportation, ypur own meals, other incidentals like the cost of the cd per head), add to that your "salary" as Ma'am Harvey mentioned above, then you'd be ok. Remember you must also factor in the ROI on the gear that you used during the shoot, so add that to the total as well.

inclusion: 10-20 pics of web res file with watermark
1pcs -8r print or 5pcs of 5r setcard

for fashion- theres no money on that here in the Philippines to tell you the truth. Unless its a commercial shoot from designer or ad agency.

2. Events - This si where the money is.
i charge 2k per hour
inclusion: web res pics CD with and with out watermark
i dont give out high res because all prints must be printed by my studio only. thats how i make money.

3. Wedding - 4 weddings per month. consistent in 1yr is very very profitable.
i charage 18k-70k depends on the package. for engagement shoots its 15k-80k
