    Re: A77 Break-in Shots

why use the 18-55 kit lens on an a77?
although it's ok but it defeats the purpose of buying a 24mp semi pro body and use the cheapest kit lens..

also isnt the 16-50 f/2.8 the kit lens for the a77?

Thank you for your comment sir Allan...
The 16-50 is not yet available when i got the A77... that's why i had to settle for the 18-55 just to be able to use the cam... i was told the new lens will be available before end of Nov.
btw sir, i'm just a hobbyist and i do not really worry much about the gear... i just take pictures
the purpose why i bought the A77? well it really felt good just to hold it finally and couldn't resist the urge to have it

Sony Phil offers A77 with kit lens choice of
    18-55 (SLT-A77VK) and 16-50(SLT-A77VQ.

I got the cam from Sony Center sir... unfortunately the VQ package is not yet available... I've been to several branches starting from ATC (no unit at all) through MOA (body only, no lens available)... and finally got an A77 with lens at Megamall.

16-50 f2.8 is still unavailable on most Sone centers because of supply issues from their flooded thailand plant. Sir bob had to settle for the 18-55mm which is a good starter lens (because of its zoome range)for anyone starting to get the grips on interchangeable lens cameras. If they had the 16-50 on stock when he bought it at megamall, he would have gotten it for sure.

I agree that the 24megapixels will be more appreciated by a good lens that can resolve it thats why for the moment I suggest getting a prime..like the 50mm, while he's waiting for the 16-50.

Sir bob if ever you're itching to get a REALLY GOOD lens now...I suggest this.

    http://www.dpreview.com/products/sony/lenses/sony_24_2

That is an awesome everyday lens with an equivalent focal length of 50mm on an apsc one of the best A-mount primes.

If you want a constant aperture zoom lens, I saw one of these in SM North Edsa.

    Tamron 17-50 f2.8

It has great reviews and is awesome for both photo and video.
