To help keep the forums clutter free, I've collated some of the common questions we newbies ask and provided links to existing threads. This is to avoid creating new threads to ask questions when the question has been answered already in the past.
Again, please use the search function! And remember, Google is your friend.

Books / Guides / Reading Materials
What articles should I read regarding photography?
-Please read your camera manuals first. A wealth of information is within those pages. If your camera didn't come with one, head over to the manufacturer's website and search for it there.
And of course, copies of the Digital Photographer Philippines' magazine.
What photography books should I read?
-Scott Kelby's Digital Photography book Volumes 1 to 3 are great references.

Should I buy a Canon or a Nikon?
-I don't think one brand is greater than the other. All brands have pros and cons. It's just a matter of preference. An advice I got from a friend:
"If your friends or family shoot Canon, buy Canon. If they shoot Nikon, buy Nikon. That way, you get tips from them and can also borrow and use their gear."
After buying a camera body with lens, what else should I invest on?
-A sturdy tripod.
