this is a good question.

ma'am Pilar, why were you recomposing your shot?

I attended your Rockwell session before and you told us to avoid recomposing as much as possible.

I avoid recomposing when I use large openings 2.8 and bigger. The studio shoot had an opening of f8.0 so I had the freedom of composing with the center focusing point and recomposing..

large aperture opening (e.g. F/1.2, F/1.4, F/1.8, F/2.8) has a shallow depth of field, where a slight change of focal plane while recomposing would get you out of focus on your target area.

whereas, F/8.0 and other smaller aperture opening in a controlled studio setup has a wider depth of field and recomposing your frame will still give you a safe focus on your subject just like Ms. Pilar did in her shoot.

Ah... Now I know. The idea of recomposing at f/2.8 didn't get off my mind until I read this.
