Nice rig, do you use an FPV system?

Yup. We are using 2 radios. 1tx controls the chopper, and 1tx controls the roll, vert and hor panning of the camera (and he sees the live view feed from the camera).

    this is cool.

I just love it when imagination is matched with practical ingenuity. Bravo.
i have to agree. i think we all do.

di talaga pahuli ang pinoy. more like what robert harrison did when he used his camera, weather balloons, and duct tape to get photos of earth from space. even NASA was stunned.

and same with what will & matt burrard-lucas did with their beetlecam when they mounted a 400d on a four-wheel drive remote control buggy. such ingenuity.

looking forward for more of your adventures sir

    Hi Miguel!

No, we are not part of it. Our rig can do 360degrees and our chopper is the newer version, unless he upgraded. Honestly, I don't know his present system. We are more into this as a hobby rather than as a business kasi.

Re: Aerial Photography with an RC Plane

Decided to revive my plane and do a few mods, replaced the underpowered 50 watt motor swinging a 9 inch diameter propeller and replaced it with a 200 watt motor turning an 11 inch propeller, also re mounted the cam as low as possible to improve stability of the plane due to the cam's weigh creating a pendulum effect, first test flight with the new mods greatly improved the planes stability and climb rate, the plane is a lot more stable even in high winds and will climb higher and faster, pics show all the difference from the previous setup.

New Camera mount for the Canon A490

    Old mount

New bigger 200 watt motor and 11 inch propeller mounted along with the new lower mounted camera

Old setup with the 50 watt motor and 9 inch propeller

Test pics with the new setup, flew a lot higher this time, Laguna lake at 5.5 km away from my airfield

I am very happy with the results of the new modifications.

Guess its time to go around and take photos eleswhere, also need to practice my aiming skills

Re: Aerial Photography with an RC Plane

Test flight this time remounted the cam facing forward, the plane handled very differently due to the increased drag caused by the bigger frontal area, might revert back to the side facing cam setup.

    Practiced my aiming skills
