Snapshot.. what is the difference..

Hi.. Greetings to all of you..

I just have some question regarding the term "SNAPSHOT". Since i am still new in photography i would like to ask what are the things i need to know/consider to avoid a snapshot like photo.. sometimes kasi people would say your picture is just an ordinary snapshot.. but since i am new i dont know where to begin.. hehe when you say snapshot do you mean a bad picture, with bad composition? please enlighten me.. hehehe thanks po..

for me, snapshots are more like candid shots.

thanks sir, that's also what im thinking.. so when you say your picture is like a snapshot what is your perception about this.. having a snapshot photo is not really a bad thing? am i right? or wrong? hehehe..

BTW sir maco i saw ur photos on flicker i really admire those shots you have specially the street photography.. and the BORACAY GIRLS..

yes, snapshots or candid are not bad, it has its own purpose. well, every aspect does...

Snapshots are unplanned or candid shots, does not mean its a bad shot in fact most are good.

For me, snapshots are unplanned, shoot from the hip type of shots. Whether good or bad, it all depends on the photographer.

As i understand when people say "it's just an ordinary snapshot photo" is a candid shot without a story... it will become a steetshot or photojournalism shots when these snap/candid shots will have a descriptive lines and/or story...
