    Shutter Actuation

I know there are threads regarding this...but I have a question...a lot of people are worried that their shutter would die out after a certain number of clicks..and I'm just curious, is there anyone here who had their shutter replaced already? My D60 is already at 11,000 shots, and I just used it starting May this year. (I bring my camera to school, and I've covered some events. hehe)

If there is, how much did you pay to have it replaced by CDSC? And after replacing it, is it again fresh for yet another 100k shots?

i guess this topic has been discussed here already. but to answer your question, yes, the shutter can be replaced for a fee. you can ask CDSC how much would a replacement shutter for the d60 would be.

No first hand experience... but my best buddy was able to replaced the shutter mechanism of his D70 for about Php7k.... thats after more than 50K++ clicks. I highly doubt if D60 could reach the 100K mark. I could be wrong though... i cant keep track of how many images my D70s has taken.. but I assure you it has taken more than it was rated

    @ josh

dont be conscious about your shutter count. as ive stated in my previous post you can replace it. but the opportunity to snap many photos are priceless. good luck and share your work.

gray unit sir. i believe he had it replaced from CDSC though.

you definitely shouldn't be paranoid. the D70s is rated around 50k then. i read somewhere in the net that a certain guy already reached 100K clicks and his shutter is still working.

d200 is rated at 100K. Saw one at 190K and still working.

    So the d40, d40x and d60 are 50K.

    D300 is at 150K.

shutter of the d200 is P10T at CDSC
