@ Peter: Thanks for the compliment
@ keith: Check at JTPhotoWorld. I think it was P34500 when I last saw their pricelist. The lens includes caps, hood, and a nice sturdy carrying case.

think positive, not negative
I'd just thought i'd give this thread a bump...
I recently got a 50-150.. And all I can say sofar that this is one amazing piece of glass..
I shot a pre-nup last Saturday, using this lens in most of my shots.. the bokeh was really nice and creamy..
Since, my mac is still being serviced.. I haven't had the chance to PP my pics.. So what I have posted below has been untouched... No editing, No PP, No alterations at all.
Very happy with this lens

hehehe.sure will post some more.. my last one were mostly during a wedding i took 2 wks ago..
dont worry i promise to add some more.. hopefully, i'll be able to convice u to go for this lens..
if i may add, what i really like about it, is its weight.. its not too heavy, its just right that u wont feel any strain on your arms and hands even after taking a lot of shots..
but i guess wat prompted u to pass up on this is ur newly acquired 70-300 VR.![]()

Hey guys!
Can you post more sample pics of this lens, especially portraits which show lots of bokeh.
I currently have a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 APO EX Macro but realize that its a bit large and unwieldy, and too zoomed for portraiture.
I'm contemplating switching to the smaller 50-150mm but I don't want to sacrifice quality.
Some online reviews say the IQ is very similar between the two, but I'd like to get more input form actual users.
hm... if you guys didn't notice... it tends to back focus when extended at 150mm 2.8f otherwise its fine when move up to 4f. I've tried focusing at 15" and i did get a shot

This is a very tempting lens.It fits just right in my focal range and its a 2.8!
Post more reviews for this lens please. pros and cons.
whoa. ang ganda naman ng lens na to. bibilhin ko dapat is 55-200mm VR. pero 2.8 ang max aperture nitong sigma.. mas maganda ba kung ito na lang kunin ko? kasi kung 34k+ siya sana nag nikkor 70-300mm VR nalang ako or yung 55-200 nga. any thoughts? thanks![]()

hi gabriel,
iba pa rin ang 2.8.I think the 70-300Vr is only 4.5?
