I use this to download my JPEG shots from the cam as it does a very good job of organizing my MyPictures folder :D

same here, and the slide show option is very simple to use for full screen view of your picture, after down loading the photos.

How I wish there is Picasa for the Mac... or is there a good equivalent out there that I am not aware of? Any recommendations for mac software for simple photo editing/organizing? iPhoto is such a drag and I don't like the way it imposes it's own foldering.

let me know if you manage to find one as well. iPhoto's folder management is so F***** up that I don't know where my files went or was downloaded to. As much as it is a good program, but as you've said, it still is a drag.

Hi Avery,
I heard of the GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP), but I have not used it yet. It is free and you can find it here

google just release a linux version of picasa.http://picasa.google.com/linux/ So i guess mac users will be the next target.
Gimp is a great one though like photoshop,a bit confusing because of the menus, controls and all that. I use "Gimpshop" the power of gimp with environment of photoshop & its controls. For those who might want to try it,go here (http://plasticbugs.com/index.php?p=241). It's for mac & windows too.
