Today the rain was on and off so I decided to hang out by my bird feeder and took several shots of Northern Cardinals. In the following series of shots, a 30D fitted with EF 100-400 @ 400mm, and a tripod were used. The subjects are approximately 40 feet away.

thanks. i already have a 70-200 F4L so i might go for the 400 5.6L although the 100-400 IS looks really tempting.
