I've seen this discussed on other forums so I thought I might as well bring this debate to DPP. As a printer, I've found this topic very interesting.
Imagine that you are fortunate enough to have a photography exhibit. Lets say you take your digital files to a printer, like someone who specializes in inkjet output such as Rosscapili or myself. Your images get outputted on a very nice textured Fine Art Paper. The prints and images are gorgeous. Now time for your show. On the information card you title your photograph. Now you also need to describe your print. What do you call it?
The analog and alternative process guys have their names: Sliver Halide, Silver Gelatin, Platinum Palladium, Van Dyke, Cibachrome, Cyanotype, etc.
You are a digital guy/gal. You output on inkjet. Do you say Inkjet Prints? You think twice because you think your potential buyers might think your work was printed on a cheap desktop printer; after all you are charging P20,000 per image.
So what do you call your prints?
