View Full Version : Lesbian Wedding
Marco_Ingco 10-31-2007, 04:57 AM I was asked by a friend to shoot a wedding this Sunday. The wedding is that of a lesbian couple. I haven't done any of the sort. Now, maybe you guys can help me. Do you have any advise? What poses could I have them do?
Thanks!
zandy_marantal 10-31-2007, 05:29 AM Long time Mark!
I don't have any advise to offer but knowing your work, I'm sure it will turn out just fine. :)
Just curious, is the couple Pinay?
Debbie Occena-Sablada 10-31-2007, 06:32 AM Hi....can you maybe ask for a script of how the ceremony and reception would go? Also ask what they would be wearing, etc so you could work around that... Good luck... and hope you can post your pics. :D
Marcos Reyes Lequin 10-31-2007, 06:48 AM wow!!! let us know how it comes out, I would love to know how will it come out... I'm sure you'll be fine... GOOD LUCK... post some shots afterward....
Mel Garcia 10-31-2007, 07:07 AM I think they are both wearing gown or toxedo?? I dunno..now I have head ache..:-{
fidel_mercado 10-31-2007, 07:07 AM My gut tells me to treat them like any other straight couple.
Marco_Ingco 10-31-2007, 08:21 AM Hi Zandy! Long time indeed. I've just been sitting quietly in the background. This is my first post after 4 months, I think. Thanks for that vote of confidence .
Yup, they are Pinay.
I'll try to post some pics after the wedding.
Long time Mark!

Pilar Tuason 10-31-2007, 10:20 AM I would treat it as a "normal" wedding. You may want to meet with them prior to the wedding day to ask any questions you may have.
Marco_Ingco 12-09-2007, 12:33 AM So sorry guys for the late reply. I told them that I wanted to show a picture of them in a forum I'm a member of (since you guys are very helpful :D), unfortunately, the couple refused to give me permission to post any of their pictures here :(. It was a fun wedding though :)!
Red Dungca 12-09-2007, 12:45 AM congratulations on the shoot marco! sayang we can't see how great the wedding was, im curious about it:)
abumagbanua 12-09-2007, 01:40 AM wow. i have a question though. where did they get married?
isnt it illegal here?
victor_vesuna 12-09-2007, 06:44 AM it's not allowed by the Catholic Church but we have lots of gay weddings here in the Philippines among gay men, although lesbian wedding is very rare.

How was it ? Was it just like a regular wedding ?
What were the couple wearing ? Perhaps you can share that with us.
DonoVan_Cairo_Javier 12-09-2007, 07:59 AM Hi Marco,
Sinong Sinabihan ng (Which Girl)? "You May Kiss the Bride"???:D
Mel Garcia 12-09-2007, 08:59 AM As a photographer I do it and make them the same picture as the best wedding you can get ( in civil wedding). But wedding in other Christian church ( except Catholic) I will pass. It against in my belief. Anyway in Canada they are legal. That is only MY OWN opinion.
abumagbanua 12-09-2007, 09:11 AM so it's a civil wedding?

It's a christian church also I forgot the name of the church, they have one in Baguio City, from news reports majority of the gay couples look just like ordinary yuppies not cross not transexuals nor cross dressers.
Ian Villaceran 12-10-2007, 09:38 AM Treat them just like any other straight couple. Also, try to ask about who is the manly and do the usual poses.
Marco_Ingco 12-19-2007, 09:03 AM Wow! Lots of questions!
[Red] Thanks!
[Abu] They got married here in NJ. It's not called a wedding yet here but is called a civil union which gives the couple the same rights as any married couple. The gay people here are still lobbying for the legality of marriage in this state.
[Bebet] It's just like a regular wedding. There's an entourage, a best man, a maid-of-honor, etc. In most gay weddings here, when its gay men, both are wearing tux, when it's women, both are wearing wedding gowns. In my case, the one who is more manly is wearing a tux and the other is wearing a gown. So that also answers Donovan's question .
[Mel] It's also against my belief. But when I was asked to do this wedding for a friend, I was not informed that it was a lesbian ceremony. Of course, when he said it's a wedding, I thought it would be a regular wedding... I just knew it a week before when the groom (or bride ) called me. I just took it as a professional.
Thanks all!

@ Victor Vesuna: neng, correction po. mas marami po ang nagpapakasal na lesbian kesa sa gay couple. This is true in all 3 congregations of MCC in the Philippines (Makati, QC and Baguio)

Please speak in English as per Forum Rules..
technically speaking, Philippine Law is not yet accepting this kind of marriage. For ceremony reason, maybe your church is doing that but i dont think it is accepted by Philippine Law.
Sir David had a good link (posted before) for taking pictures of the couples. At least we have now idea how to shoot in this kind of events.
