 i really dont understand why the dont get fat/plus size women.men for the cover of the magazine or something. .

Partly because the clothes were designed for slimmer folks. Things like how the fabric flows, where the stitches are made to create a shape for the piece of clothing is tailored to the V/hourglass profile.

Part of the reason why most clothes that look great on magazines/mannequins look horrible when worn by real people when the midsection stretches out a little or the shoulders drapes down etc.

I've seen some magazines that featured some who don't have model-like figures, both for men and women, here and abroad. It just depends on the magazine.

for me.. fitness is essential.

thats what we all have to understand =)

i may be OT

im not saying all plus size people are not fit but hey.. everyone has the privilage to get in shape and have a healthier life.

other than that... your angle doesnt appeal what the world dictates as of now. =)

There will always be market IMO, and 90% of the super models used by big name brands are far from healthy hehe.

Uh Sharon recently came out on the cover of METRO hahahaha

and Jennifer Hudson was on the cover of VOGUE this year

http://www.celebritydietdoctor.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/jennifer-hudson.jpg

and so did Mama Oprah a few years back.

I declined to be on a plus sized spread once since I didn't find the clothes flattering. I firmly believe fashion/trends is/are not for everyone.

I think the problem is with the local clothing companies. Only a handful make US sizes (12 and above) and the obesity/fat problem here is not as bad as the US. If I had cash to burn, I'd bring in Torrid and H&M.

Sayang you should've been one of the panelists of RockEd Radio during their "fat acceptance/body image" episode http://rockedradio.blogspot.com/2007/08/sept-2-on-rock-ed-radio-sexy-ang.html I was anti-obesity, pro-acceptance

there will always be a market for whatever you want to do...what matters is for you to determine the size of that market and what they want...and whether you can serve that market properly and profitably...

you've started in the right direction...

use what's available...it's the same thing with photography - you can't say your pictures did not come out well because you didn't use what the world type of equipment the world dictates you use...or people will not hire you because you might be using a pinhole camera instead of a digital full frame one?

what you say. . really helps. . :)

but do you think. .
if i still go further of what i want. .
regardless of waht the market want. .
will it come out well. . ??
coz. . im thinking that. . even if others dont appreciate it. .
time will come that they will. . :)

Don't be put off, just because the mainstream (and somewhat narrow minded) market isn't into it, doesn't mean there's no market for it.

Catering to the smaller market is easier to penetrate and should be more fun. I'd love to be able to work with "normal" and plus sized individuals if I have the chance.

There's nothing "sad" about it, really.

Who cares about what "others" think as long as your clients are happy.
