I spent a few minutes chatting with a Sony rep at a local store's Grand Opening festivities today. He mentioned that by summer 2008 (June to August), Sony will have a total of five DSLR bodies on the market. The next DSLR body to be introduced will be a body between the A100 and the A700 (named the A500?), with a flip-out Live View LCD. The pro model (named the A900?) may be the last model introduced, but will cost about double the price of the A700. That leaves the A100, A500, A700 and A900. Will there be an A300?

In terms of lenses, the 16-105 will be released in November, but what I am really looking forward to is the CZ 24-70/2.8. Unfortunately, there was no release date given for this lens.

this 24-70 2.8 will be a CZ... whew! I cant imagine how much would this be when release consider that the new Sony 16-105 3.5/5.6 and CZ 16-80 3.5/4.5 price is head to head!

I also found out (not through the Sony Rep) that Sony will bring out their own version of the Tamron 18-250 superzoom lens. Faster focusing? Quieter? Better mechanics? Who knows. More expensive? Definitely!
