Ok Guys and Girls,

For the upcoming issue of DPP, we want to see photos of water. It may be a landscape, seascape, a portrait on water or a water reflection as long as the water element is present.

The Photo Gallery should be open soon. Or you can send a CD directly to us, containing your best water shots.

We don't care about post processing, as long as it is printable (meaning not oversaturated). Water is not easy to shoot and the tendency may be to blow out your whites. Be careful of this because large spaces of blown out whites is a no-no for printing.

Photos in mono or colored are all good.

Some photos will be used for critique. We are not creating a new critique gallery but will contact you directly if we think your photo would be good for a critique. You can agree or disagree. If you agree, your image will get printed in DPP magazine with some comments.

Firm deadline on November 7. If you have any questions, feel free to post or email us.

Three weeks to the deadline, go out and start shooting. :D

Quick question lang po, around what numbers should the RGB histogram be at for the white not to be blown out aka acceptable to print?

For example blown out whites are normally at or near red 256 green 256 blue 256. So around what number would be acceptable?

And does the same go for true blacks when it comes to print? or is it alright for them to be near or at these numbers red 0 green 0 blue 0?

Thanks:)

My safety numbers are 15 - 245, however Velprint is very good at preserving highlights and showing shadow detail. I think 10-250 is well within range.
