Introducing DPP Issue No. 4.

The magazine should be out in the newsstands around September 10. We have basically fast tracked a few articles to keep up with the never-ending pace of diigital photography. In this issue, Richard Larrios shares with us his tips on photographing Low-Light Landscapes. We also took most of our local Landscape entries and featured them in the article.

The cover article tackles underwater photography and provides a slight twist. Our UK principals provided us an article on how to photograph fashion underwater. Truly an interesting read. And for the traditional underwater photography, Gutsy Tuason provided us four photographs and told us how he executed the shots.

We also have a newly formatted Reviews section that you will all like. And lastly, our Readers Gallery is packed as we feature the results of the Olympus and Nikon EBs. Again, the magazine should be out around September 10.

Thanks to all our readers for your support!

The magazine is quite jammed pack with articles and features. The cover was taken by the feature article photographer, Ric Frazier, from the US. You will see a different side of underwater photography here and may inspire some of our local underwater photographers to take this up for a different spin on fashion or editorial work. We also asked our own Gutsy to provide some input on underwater photography in our oceans. We also have a nice Landscape article and more more more stuff.

For subscribers maybe September 8. For newsstand delivery Sept 10-12. Stay tuned.

Tina,

We get the magazine delivered to us tonight, Sept 8. We are changing couriers to LBC. Hopefully they can accommodate our request to pick up the magazines tomorrow. If yes, then you will probably receive your mag on Monday. If they can't then it may stretch out to Wednesday. Sorry for this but its the best we can do.

Okay guys we received the magazines in our office last night. Our new courier LBC is making the pick up at 2pm today. LBC has Sunday deliveries so most subscribers should get their magazine on Sunday but worst case Monday.

@Tina- Thanks for the wait. This issue is a bit packed but at least it will keep you reading
@Rocky- i forgot about your problem but will resolve this week, thats a promise. You will receive two courier packages..one for the mag and the other fixing your problem.

For our other loyal readers this is the delivery schedule:

Monday- Makati
Tuesday- Alabang / Manila
Wednesday- Ortigas
Thursday- QC

since you are now using LBC, i'm subscribing instead of picking it up from the store. i find a lot of the messenger services unreliable and didn't want to take the chance before.

any chance you have somebody i can pay my subscription fee to in the ortigas center area?

ian_santos
09-09-2006, 12:38 PM
Hi Nick! I too have been picking up my copies from the bookstore. My schedule is a bit hectic and haven't had time to subscribe and go to your office to pay( but i did sign up online when DPP was just starting and indeed received my first copy ). Same as Robert, where can I pay in Ortigas center?

Nick Tuason
09-09-2006, 04:46 PM
@Berck and Ian

We don't have any payment centers if that is what you are asking for. We ask that you use a courier like LBC and send payment through courier to our office address. That is the most simple way of transacting. We were taking direct bank deposits to our BDO account, but it was starting to become a nightmare tracking who paid and when.

Let me know if you have other concerns. Glad to hear though that you are supporting the magazine through the newsstands. National Bookstore has been happy with our sell through. Now if everyone decided to subscribe, we won't have any newsstand sales!

Thanks again for all your support.

Leni you can read our miinds. We were thinking of dedicating a full page in the back of the magazine to list all the upcoming workshops and their descriptions with at least a two month lead time. Most likely you will see this in Issue 05.

That price tag is for the UK edition. I know because I got their issue last month because the local issue was not in the stands yet. There is an accompanying CD however, so that was the bonus. The local issue is less than P300, and I don't think Nick changed the price for the current issue.

We delivered the Ortigas area today. The magazine stand under the escalator in the Podium is MIO magazines and they will be carry DPP mag moving forward. Our issue with NBS is that the are very slow to put the magazine on the shelves. I just visited Greenbelt today only to see that our mag was not displayed. We delivered there since Monday so had to talk to the manager again to get them to get the magazine out of the storage room. Quite frustrating.

please keep up the good work.

on another note, i know that a lot of people do submit their photos for your approval and posting in both online and on hard copy, but i was wondering if there would be a section for beginners to post something on the hard copy? just wondering . . . .
