I am a Sony Alpha user and i don't have much accesories except my 3 lenses. I'm into events photography and i am not satisfied with my shots. Because i don't have external flash. And I need one very badly. Where can i get it here in the Philippines and i hope to get it cheap, brand new or second hand?

There are 3 options/classes of external flash available for Sony Alpha;
1. Sony HVL-F56AM or 36AM
2. Minolta Maxxum 5600HS or 3600HS
3. Sigma EF-500DG Super Flash

But unfortunately, I can only get that abroad or in ebay.com. And i don't know how to use ebay. I don't have credit cards (and it's not in my option to get one)...

Or if you have suggestions to make the shot acceptable without the use of external flash, that can be appreciated...

Thank you so much.

Hi Joms, you can try to go to any Sony Stores like in Megamall to buy one. However, I think its for order basis so you'll just wait days to have one. :)

Hi,

I believe Photokina Marketing Corporation is the sole distributor of Minolta cameras and accessories. They have reliable dealers nationwide, one of them is Island Photo (Quiapo and Makati), oh another one ManilaFoto in front of SM Carriedo (hope its still existing). Haven't been there for the last 15 years? Just try checking it in the internet for their contact info.

Cheers man.

Jeffrey

@jeffrey, unfortunately they're not connected anymore. KM has passed the baton to Sony already.

"Quality of light is better than the quantity of light." That's something sir Jo Avila is been telling and teaching his students and I do stand by it too. Use a high ISO setting if needed be. Your camera also have a setting for its pop up flash, increase it too if needed be but since its an events you're more into, natural light ( whatever lighting is being used in the event) in my opinion will be better and will add more drama or mood to the shots.
Just my 2 cents worth of advice.

Definitely, you'll be needing a flash... but as Gurney posted... as a last resort - group pic is the easiest context that comes to mind.
