Hello noob here with a question  Is it possible to calibrate an LCD monitor or just use a CRT? I had a brochure made from a photo I edited(erased something) and the brochure went well and didn't show any evidence. But when a large format printer was used, there was a very faint silhouette that showed up where I erased the image. Although it wasn't an irritation, I couldn't see it on my PB monitor. So I guess the LCD wasn't showing all the details.

Yes you can. We calibrate our LCDs via Colorvision's Spyder. All the macs you saw in our office Amiel are calibrated to one standard, so we all see the same colors and brightness.

Yes you can but its a bit trickier. There are a lot of factors to consider. For one, the difference in the angle of views can be a bit confusing. So, even if your monitor is calibrated, the angle of your view can make a difference.
Generally its easier to get a good print to screen match with a CRT. LCDs are generally very bright that it becomes more of a challenge to match brightness levels with your print. Plus, some lcds don't allow you to adjust the RGB values of the monitor so that you can achieve a more precise white point adjustment of your monitor.
