What dates should I book for please?

Dave,

you should book by October...rooms will be filled with reservations by end of October for the dinagyang festivities...Dinagyang is 3rd weekend of January

Anton,

Team Panay can help facilitate your Press Passes...please prepare 2x2 photos of who will join, we are planning to separate the photographers and the Media...so we will give you assigned grandstands during the event...

That's why most of us were not able to shoot Dinagyang last January. We were in Cebu for Sinulog the week before. :) Enjoy Sinulog! If only I could shoot both...

I actually booked for a room with 2 single beds so whoever wants to share it is welcome as long as of course you are a guy and doesn't snore (I don't).

Cost of the accomodation is 1,125 + VAT so you pay half.

This event is entirely different from any other event in the Philippines...so a lot of CF cards would help out plus High FPS so that you could catch up with the action...:Grin:

I actually booked the rooms last year pa... right after i checked out.. :) and the rates arent back breaking .. thats why most of the guys are getting their own rooms. :D

CEB offers P1 fare to all domestic destinations

Cebu Pacific (CEB) is offering P1 one-way fares on all its domestic destinations for travel from January 1 to March 12, 2008.

“We have allocated more than 100,000 seats for this year-end seat sale. Guests can buy their tickets from November 28 to December 2 only or until seats are sold out,” said Candice Iyog, CEB vice president for marketing and product.

The one-way fare is exclusive of fuel and insurance surcharges ranging from P900 to P1,450 one way. The promotional fare is non-refundable.
CEB has been offering seat sales to encourage more passengers, especially new flyers, to travel.

“We want air travel to be a common occurrence that most people can now experience because of our year-round fares and occasional seat sales. This is part of our goal to promote travel and tourism in and to the Philippines.” she said.
Last September 2007, CEB also offered P1 fares to mark its rise to being the country’s leading domestic carrier.

Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) data showed that domestic passenger traffic in the first nine months of the year grew 23% to 7.69 million from 6.23 million aided by the aggressive pricing strategies of local airlines, with CEB leading the industry.

“Because of our year-round low ‘Go’ fares, our occasional promotional seat sales, and our expanding capacity and number of destinations, we expect to carry more than 5 million passengers this year,” she said.

Iyog also said that this is the airline’s way of thanking its guests for a good year for both CEB and the local travel and tourism industry.

CEB took delivery of its 15th A320 aircraft last month and expects its first ATR-72 aircraft in February of next year.

She added “We’d like to think that this is just the start. With the delivery of 4 more A320s and 4 ATRs next year, we expect to be operating many new routes and destinations.”
Tickets can be purchased through CEB’s website, cebupacificair.com or through its ticketing offices and travel agents.

Guys,

I'll update you with the PIA requirements, their kinda strict for this year's Dinagyang. We are proposing to differentiate the media from the photographers.

Just prepare your 2x2s hard copy. I can't guarantee everybody a pass if they'll be strict or would like to see you in person. We'll do our best from our end, just be prepared with the ID.

Just got news from the DINAGYANG FOUNDATION...they will be limiting the MEDIA PASSES which means they will be strict...aside from this Philippine Information Agency (PIA) would like to see the Photographer in person with your gear...I will try to make arrangements with them if its possible to get a pass before you arrive possibly on January 25 (Friday)...will try my best but I can't assure anything for now guys...Keep your fingers crossed...

jake me here.. sorry for the late responce, been sick lately and very busy too with past due works. I will be posting a website here soon for those who are interested to see Dinagyang 2008 and wants to be accredited. Accreditation will be used for those who will be in the judging area and those who will be in the streets. As part of this year's preparation, Media pass will now be separated for photographers who will have their own pass, this will be used as not to confused the authorities on who are the media people and who are not. we have experienced these past years that there are other some people taking advantage of media pass especially for those who are not legitimate members of media institutions. Media pass requires letters from their editors-in-chief or station managers. We expect that there will be many photographers flocking Iloilo and for this reason, we will have to organize how photographers set to come this festival. PIA will not be incharge of the pass for photographers for there will be a committee that will take charge here. Just keep in touch here until I finalize the web for registration. I will also be in change of the Miss DInagyang 2008 pictorials and documentation, with this I might also be posting here photos of the candidates for you guys to vote.. i'll keep in touch. you can text me guys at 09267710700..

by the way pleas prepare your 2x2 pix for the accreditation. Will finalize details after meeting with Dinagayang committee.

There are separate listings for local photographers in Iloilo and will submit their accreditation direct to dinagyang foundation here in iloilo. Im calling for those who are not here Iloilo because they will have hard time facilitating their papers, especially those who are interested in seeing Dinagyang, and booked already in hotels here. AT least one way or the other I can help.. Most Hotels now in Iloilo are already booked for Dinagyang, so from the list here who have shouted, we dont know who are coming and who are not, some have not decided but shouted that they are interested... anyway.. Dinagyang is on January 26 and 27, 2008

Coy, are these 38 non-iloilo shooters have already signify their intent? Who are Go and who are No Go?

lone, everybody signified already but as usual, there are changes weekly. there are dropouts and newcomers as well. the list will be the basis of the dinagyang foundation c/o leo solinap (currently busy with the miss dinagyang website). everybody here is considered GO

we will try to update this list daily.

Can I still join you guys? Sorry for the last minute decision, I just had an opportunity to visit our project in Cebu on the 24th and the Boss allowed me to maximize the trip. guys send me your 2x2 ID photo on my email, leosolinap@gmail.com, Photographers in the list will be distributed to four judging areas and steets (roving), if you are roving you will be allowed to shoot along the streets of dinagyang festival where the main routes of the tribe will pass, if your re in the judging areas, you will only remain in the judging to shoot. If you re interested in areas, please email me, if you want streets to shoot, email me also. there are four judging areas now and also street dancing along and between judging areas.

Panay Digital Shooters (PDS) is planning a fellowship night for photographers on Jan 25 (friday)...in that way we can have fun and get to know each other better...location will be at CHINOS ASIAN RESTO...Another thing, we would like each group depending on your location (for example Manila group) to present a short number for the program...perhaps a song or dance number just for fun...hope everybody cooperates...see you soon!!! :)

there will be a fireworks competition on the evening of january 26 at the old airport runway in mandurriao

17 participants mostly from meycauyan, and the rest from manila, bohol and only 1 from iloilo (arevalo). the contestants are members of the phil assoc. of pyrotechnics and devices.

another added attraction for dinagyang :-)

Only 1 in Iloilo? I'm from Iloilo and we are joining the competition but we're not from arevalo, hehehe. I'm not sure of the location yet, but from what i know, there's an option to be held at SM City parking lot. Don't know the final venue. Only 1 in Iloilo? I'm from Iloilo and we are joining the competition but we're not from arevalo, hehehe. I'm not sure of the location yet, but from what i know, there's an option to be held at SM City parking lot. Don't know the final venue. To those visiting Dinagyang this coming weekend, there will be more (as in!) people during this event compared to previous years.

I had the chance to take some street shots of the Dinagyang Opening Salvo last friday afternoon with my wife. The salvo is the formal opening of and start of the Dinagyang Festival, as well as a rehearsal of tribe performances in the 4 staging areas. It was just the opening salvo but the streets got so filled up with people already!

Have a good stay in Iloilo!

TO ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE COMING THIS DINAGYANG 2008..
There will be a photographers' night on Friday, January 25, 2008, 6:30 p.m.
here in Iloilo. For those who are interested to join shout here as there will a buffet
dinner that will be served. Duon nalang ako mag conduct an orientation on what to expect and what are the routes and where are your posts during the Festival. The Executive Director of Dinagyang
Foundation will also be present to give his words of welcome to all of you. The ID pass will be given
after the dinner and orientation and also schedules and map of the parade para hindi kayo mawala sa Iloilo. Getting to know each other na tayo dito at least during the festival when we see each other, magkakilala tayo.
