I think it's a great idea.

What kind? what kind of binding? hard bound? Ring bound?
Lamination?

That would make a great christmas gift. If it's not expensive. Just imagine, a personalized coffee table book of your shots.

Somewhat OT... I was waiting for some prints last week in Metro East and was browsing through the pics of the displayed photobooks and realized it was Miguel's family vacation that was in one of them hehe.

for the benefit of those who are thinking of having photobooks made by digiprint - GREAT MOVE!

i, for one, am a very satisfied customer of the digiprint photobook. i had one made for my wife on her birthday last month, and another one for one of our company's senior managers. in both times, all we received were praises over the quality of work that was done.

personally, now that i look back, i should've gone with the 40 page photobook, instead of the 20 that i had made for my wife. my advice: never underestimate the number of pages that you'll need.

plus, the digiprint staff will be more than willing to help you out. if you don;t have any unique lay-out preferences, you can get the job done a lot quicker.

based on my experience, once you leave the photos with them (grouped in folders according to what page/s you want them to appear on), give them 3-5 days to make the lay-out. you'll be contacted to approve of their initial design within that time. if you're not satisfied with the second draft (hopefully minimal changes), they will redo the lay-out until you finally approve it for them to proceed to printing.

and just like their regular printing service, they can deliver your photobook right to your doorstep. you can always, though, drop by their shop to pick it up yourself and have it gift wrapped.

ive seen how the staff do the layout, they're also good, always considering the requests & preferences of the client. but im just so used on doing all my layouts by myself :)
btw, ive also seen digiprint's flipbook, its a nice idea, ringbinding the 3R/4R/5R prints. a lot cheaper than the photobook, but good enough for kids :)

Theres an easy solution to that - Just make 2 photobooks so all your pictures will fit... :)

Because on January I'm desperately in need of photobook for my bestfriend's wedding. Im assembling 4 photographers plus me! but Im going to select the photos for her. So, it will be tough for me and crucial specially in having it turn into a photobook.

I try to view some book sample of your website but sad to say that there's no link to the sample products. I really need to see a sample so I can convince my friend or ask her to select which background or layout she likes.

Needless to ask about the quality of your product but I do believe Jojo's recommendation since he himself was impressed.

There was just a minor glitch. While my lay-out was being checked by the digiprint lady, 2 pages were accidentally deleted from my thumbdrive, so I had to come back the next day to re-submit the lost files . They should have saved everything 1st before opening it in photoshop. Anyway, all's well now and lessons have been learned.

So i'll just end up popping pictures into folders. On your recommendation to give space for your average design layouts.

Depends on the size of photobook you choose. As an example if you choose the 8x10 4o pages it fits around 100 photos (3r and 4r)

I went to digiprint shangri-la today and availed of the storybook product. I was informed that it would take 15 days to complete the layout. Naturally, I was shocked to learn that it would take half a month to layout my pictures. But, given the fantastic and top of the line quality of digiprint, I forcefully accepted this 15 days waiting period.

Then, I visited this thread to check the feedbacks on the storybook and suprisingly, i read that it takes about 3-5 days to complete the layout. Does this normally happen wherein the 3-5 days gets extended to 15 days layout? Can I have the layout done by other non-busy branches instead?

In any case, the digiprint pro discount is really great :) Digiprint has been and will continue to be my number one option when it comes to digital printing services.

When I got the 10x15 test prints I made, all I can say is "Wow!" I've been using a different company to have my pics printed since last year and was never really happy. Digiprint's output is "too accurate" that I need to revise my pre-printing workflow! lol! :)

I had a photobook test printed and can't wait to get it. I'm so happy with the test prints and very excited about my photobooks that I'm now in the process of converting all our travel pics into photobooks. :)

Vangie we are working on that. We have already done that once (the client brought us the layout from the IPHOTO and we just re did it in Photoshop exactly the same as the IPHOTO layout.

Just want to ask if it is possible to have the cover of my photobook made-over?

I made my own lay-out. But I wasn't sure about the size/ specs of the cover of the album so I had the CS at Digiprint in SM Centerpoint re-position the front and back cover.
I just got the photobook today. And I was disappointed to find that the back cover was not center.

If it can be made-over, do I have to pay for the reprint/ repair considering it was the CS at the shop who positioned the pictures?

May I also request for the specs for making 8x10 & 8x8 lay-outs?

Its the same. We dont have the magazine type - just the hardbound type.

Sorry we dont do the Iphoto. Ours are dif but a think netter since you can really customize all pages. With Iphoto you always have to follow the fixed templates.

Thank you very much for your kind assistance and concern.

I spoke with Philip and he sent me the icc profiles. Still figuring out how to use it on my monitor since I don't really see any difference in the colors (before and after installing it). The pictures I had made into the photobook still looks bright on my monitor.

I got the 2 other photobooks I ordered yesterday. The prints are still darker than I had expected, even after I asked them to lighten the prints. They said they don't do any corrections on pictures with lay-outs done by customers. :(

I ain't a member of any photography club thats why i didn't apply for a digipro acct. i hope i wont settle for the loyalty membership in digiprint, cause the 25% discount for the photobooks is much preferred and the loyalty card cant avail discounts in larger prints. hope you'll answer my query. Even if you are not a member of Digiprint pro you can still order a 10x10 or a 12x12.

As for large prints even the Pro members cant aval of discount :)

sir miguel just curious me and my future wife are making our OWN PRE-NUP booklet ... i'm currently using APERTURE 2 to make the book. Does DIGIPRINT recognize MAC programs like APERTURE? Cause what we plan is to organize the photos (which i know you guys can do) ourselves and give the softcopy to the nearest DIGIPRINT Branch for printing. Is this possible? Or kailangan PHOTOSHOP pa as what your staff are using for editing the pics. Sensya na medyo newbie.

no matter what software you use as long as the final result is in jpeg format, digiprint can do it, i think.

I'm still new at Aperture so im not really sure how i will be able to give Digiprint the JPEG format BOOK they need.

Our storybook is done with specific guidelines in Photoshop. Send me your email address and ill email you our guidelines. Or just bring your pictures to any branch. Layout is free. :)

However, when my dad saw it, he made a comment on the picture of the cover page, a bit negative. To decribe it, the picture of my grandma was faded and placed on the front/top of Mt. Fuji. His comment was, it was like my grandma is in the sky... implying that its the heavens. So now, looking at it again, he seems right. Can I have the cover page picture change? How much would it cost? Charlie, I suggest you drop by any of the digiprint branches. They're everwhere. If this is your first time, it's good to see the samples first hand and have a feel of the quality of print and paper. I liked it the first time i saw one.

I just submitted high res pics to digiprint megamall and they did all the layouting. Very nice! Making the Layout is part of the package. I just sorted the pics in different folders. I advised them to pick only the pictures that look nice in the layout.
