I've curious with the ISO 800 or 1600 performance of the new cameras. I managed to snag a couple ISO 1600 shots:

It's still not definitive. But it's a start.

Hmmm..

Comparing it my ISO1600 shots, looks a-ok to me. Nothing a little noise ninja can't handle.

it's clean though digital noise is evident already at 100% crop. but don't be so insecure about noise in your pics (unlike other people)

Question for Canon 400D users... What if I really need noise and can't shoot at ISO1600 or higher? There are photos that you would want to have noise/grains... adding noise in post-processing is a different thing and will yield a different look.

Looks very good. Who uses 100% crops anyways? hehehe. I'll. try do do some tests on the D80 too. Post the results here. :)

And btw I can see someone in the reflection, is that you taking the pic? :D

Looks ok to me too..

@kapepe- just a thought. what if you shoot it underexposed then increase level during PP, that would introduce more noise diba?
