Hi, everyone.
I saw this in a NY Times article:
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/24/technology/23cnd-apple.html?ex=1172030400&en=9721c3becb088673&ei=5087&excamp=OVGNapplerecall
And here's the link to the apple site:

Was just talking with people from Dell and Sony on this the other week in malaysia...interesting how some of them seemed to pass the blame hehe. My Sony contact insists that although they manufactured it, Dell's Quality Control engineers screwed up in monitoring this batch...Sony makes batteries for other vendor laptops such as HP.....
Stocks of Dell seemed to have plummet as well after this incident.
Well at least the vendors were quick to take responsibility after that battery explosion from a Dell notebook in Japan just recently.
Now if only Petron would do the same after that nasty oil spill in of all places, the pristine island of Guimaras ...... (and nuf on passing the blame to their 3rd partt shipping company)

This will be the second time that I will be availing of this battery recall program. However, one has to pass through a reseller this time around, unlike the first one which was done online, and the battery was delivered to my house in less than a week. I am not complaining though, my battery is really up for replacement anyway. Lucky again I think...

I agree with you. In my opinion lang, Petron still has some responsibility in the matter since its their product that's being shipped. Looking at it in terms of the value chain, then they should have looked into all inputs in their product-- including the way being shipped. That tanker was 100% overloaded.

yup, oops sorry O/T guys,....petron has no sense of crisis management. (thats how shell differs from them hahaha) They talk about the high cost to save the sea and rectify the situation.....times like these......cost is the least concern.
now even the giant clams are in danger in that region..(ah the diver in me)
ok back to regular programming....no one has died btw from that explosion of sony batteries as from what i know..
