does anybody here use them? i have been looking for one but haven't found any.

Avenue has them, i think.

I personally haven't used them but i've met somone who has.
it uses 8 batteries on top of the 4 in the flash, and allows super fast recycles on the 580ex.

Use it too quickly and too long and you risk burning out/melting the flash unit as well.
