Common Reyno, What's the lens you used? Ang galing kumuha ng litrato :)

Birding I know is somewhat addicting... Kaso nga lang magastos :)

Earl, here's my current birding setup:
Canon 30D w/ grip, EF 70-200 f/4 L, EF 100-400 L IS, EF II 1.4X TC, Sigma DG500, Better Beamer, Manfrotto 190MFV, and my old beatup but reliable truck to go around places. I had a Tamron 200-500 for a couple of months but ended up selling it in favor of the 100-400. Don't get me wrong, the Tamron is a very capable lens but it doesn't have an IS and as much as possible I don't like carrying tripod if I don't have to. I'm very happy with this setup and I'll keep it for sometime unless there's an incredible drop in the prices of prime glass which I doubt will happen soon.

WHOA Reyno !!! These are wonderful shots :) I noticed that on your latest captures, the birds seem to stand out in the photos. Is there a PP technique that makes this happen ? Parang the birds seem to want to jump out of the photos - amazing !!!

Thank you all for taking the time to view my captures, your comments are highly appreciated.
Tina: After raw conversion in Canon's DPP I do PP in PS Elements 4.0(very new at this so I don't do much at this time)but I do most of the adjustments at the time of shooting. For stationary subjects I normally set the in-camera sharpness between 4&5, contrast and saturation between 2&3, ISO between 200-400, EV between -1/3 & -1 in Av mode, evaluative metering and selective focus. For in-flight shots, I use the same setting except the EV changes between +1/3 and +2/3, selective focus is set at the center, and spot metering used almost all the time. One mandatory thing that I do before I start shooting is, I normally take bracketed sample shots of the environment and deduce from there the settings I would use for the real shoot. It seems like a whole lot but once you get very familiar with your camera's dials, it's a snap. This is the reason I upgraded to the 30D because I find it a lot more convenient to make these field adjustments than the 350D. The time of the day is also very important thing to consider. I used to just go out there and shoot, but now I normally go out before sunrise or just before sunset. Cheers...
