Ronnel Cuison 08-19-2007, 04:25 PM Are you referring to DSLR only? I used to have a Sony f828. I love the live view of this prosumer camera. It gave me insane POV and made my food shoot easy. No need to bend over for some close up shots on the subject. Here'a sample shot. I was not bending over or kneeling. I did this shot standing. Shoot was done in a matter of minutes. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/87/225032356_80f437f2ae_o.jpg Vin DelaPena 08-19-2007, 04:37 PM live view LCD is really useful for extreme angles. i use a Canon S3IS and the articulating LCD lets me shoot really unusual angles without my pants getting dirty :) olivertagayun 08-19-2007, 05:03 PM thanks ronnel great food photo Ethan Yamato 08-19-2007, 05:13 PM You can basically discern the effects of your histogram in real time. Norman_P._Aquino 08-19-2007, 06:21 PM While the Mk. III has Live View, it is far from becoming a mass market item given its price. The modified Canon 20D, named 20Da and aimed at astrophotography and infrared markets, had limited availability. The live preview was also limited to about half a minute, under risk of damaging the sensor. On the other hand, you can have Live View at a cheap cost using Olympus DSLRs starting with the E-330, and now, the E-510 and E-410. The upcoming successor of the pro-level E-1 will also have the feature plus articulating LCD. Aside from the low and high angles, Live View also gives you DOF and white balance previews. It is also perfect for infrared shooting. Live View has its limitations, but understand that it is not supposed to replace the viewfinder. Think of it as an alternative that can be turned off if you don't need it.
