Very old model, I doubt if you can find a brand new one, even if you do, I doubt they'll sell it at market rate, you'll be better off getting an S3Pro or S5Pro...

i'm sure dpreview.com has an extensive review on it....

hmm well I agree with everything in the online reviews. Ummm... color saturation is fantastic. Well its old so the screen is small compared to the new cams. Has the body of F80 which, I heard is prone to crack... hmmm mine, not yet. Hmm what else? Oh i like it that it still uses AA batteries so you wont go crying if you're stuck somewhere without a charger. It saves RAW files a hell lot sslower than the new cams even if your card is a fast card. Hmmm... it eats the lithium CR123's fast, so u gotta stash those if youre going on a trip. Its not as heavy as the new Fuji's and not as "plasticky" either. Uhmm... what else, nothings been destroyed so far... and ive put it to hard use. Uhmmm thats about it. :) I cant really compare with other DSLRs coz its the only one I have. Lemme know if you have any queries id be glad to assist.

i used to have the s2.. very nice camera. the color/saturation/definition are all superb. its not very fast in terms of focusing and read/write of data. but works well inside the studio but i've used it for sports/actions/dance and kaya naman basta if you know the timing well.

yun battery lang yun medyo hassle. do use rechargable AAs.. they will last longer. do prepare those CR123 as well.. they are not that cheap din.

overall, i love my then s2pro. too bad s3pro didnt really improved much for my requirement.

other pro photogs like dominique james and xander angeles are/were proud users of fuji s2pro din :)

all of the above plus focusing is slow. focus hunts in low light.

cr123 lithium batteries don't come cheap in the malls so better buy a lot from hidalgo.

tones/color/saturation/dynamic range is good. it isn't for sports really but if know how to anticipate, it'll work for you :)

i still have my s2 pro and it has been with me for 4 years na. hindi pa naman nabibiyak :)

ah. so i take its a good camera? hehehe.

pero overall, given the slow focusing and writing of data and the consumption of CR123s, can it compare with the newer slrs? was thinking of getting it or an oly e500...

well it has its ups and downs. you could make up for the slow focusing by using af-s lenses.

it's not a good camera. it's a really really good camera despite it's faults :D

thread like this... makes me really want a FUJI soon!!

yep, S2 is a killer performer. kinda slow but produces kick-ass images (off cam).

if you have more dough to burn might as well get the S5.. a newer/faster sibling of the S2. i have an informal/field test of the S5. Do check out the thread under FUJI.

Good luck & congratulations in advance! :)

the s2 is a great camera but i suggest you buy the latest & newest camera you can afford. theres alot of newer cameras (even entry level cameras) that are better than the s2.

just my 2 cents...:)

How much do you think it would cost to upgrade the buffer memory of an S2 pro? has anyone here tried it? plan ko bumili ng 2nd hand na Fuji s2 because of its color renditions.

The S2 is a great cam! Actually the 1st dslr cam i'ved used. Master Bien Bautista loaned it to me for testing this hobby before buying my own cam. What can i say! I got hooked! Now im using a Nikon D50 and of course the S2! It's a great cam kind of slow lang. Great for studio shoots, vivid color.

I used to have an S2Pro till I sold it last May... Though slow, color rendition was spot on. Ease of use was one of the main selling points for me coming from a prosumer P&S. CR123s burns holes in your pockets though. I was even tempted to buy the rechargable CR123s at B&H last March. I liked the build and heft since I have big hands. And the images it produced came out superb even when I slapped on a cheap a$$ 28-80 Sigma lens on it...

I know somebody selling one. PM me if you're interested... :)

First of all WELCOME to DPP, Sir. Sorry to hear about your camera. Have you tried resetting the camera? Have you tried changing the CF card? Reformat Cf card? Downloading new firmware? Googled the problem? There might be other sites or forum that can answer your delima. Particularly, a fuji forum. If nothing works, your best remedy is bring it in for repairs.

Good luck. Hope you find the solution soon.

have you checked the aperture ring of the lens if it's set to the smallest opening?
and have you tried removing both batteries?

This also happened to me before on my S2. I cleaned the contacts with a pencil eraser and the -ERR- message didn't come out anymore...
