My interest in birds and bird photography made me decide to join the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines - it was through this club that I discovered a place with so many beautiful birds that live in the wild and where I saw my very first squirrels right in the very heart of Metro Manila.

Nice shots Tina! It was also at the Manila American Cemetery where I went on a birdwalk with WBCP. For the Barred Rail, were you in the open or using a car as a blind?

Nice shots Tina! There a lot of squirrels around Fort, Forbes and Dasma area :D It's either you don't see any of them one day but you may see maybe 4-5 playing around the next day, jumping from 1 tree to another, playing around. They trip on those red seeds of those small palm trees. Apparently they like 'em.

Thanks a lot TJ, Anton and Aris for the kind words. I live in the south kasi and have never seen squirrels there. I've seen many squirrels in the States but never here in the Philippines kaya when I saw them, I was ecstatic :)

Hi TJ. Yes, I used the car as a blind. The barred rails get scared easily kaya you really have to use a blind or have verrrry long lens in order to get a nice detailed shot of them. Good luck.
