hi guys! got a referral to this place from a couple of diving buds... they've probably already regalled you with their kick-ass shots... me... well... input/ comments please

this is my first time underwater with a (real) camera... used a canon A620 with WP-DC10 u/w housing... used auto settings entirely for this 1st go since I was more out to get a feel for this whole u/w photo thing

Man, I'm tempted... really tempted to try this out... However, underwater photography is another whole new world. Looks expensive. Siguro after I finish my current fixation with IR, I'll venture to this if the budget permits it. :)

Oh and to the author of this thread... I liked the 1st and the Last pics the most.

Jag,

I haven't seen the exif of your photos, but looking at them, they seem soft/blurred to me. For macro/super macro shots, it's a good idea to use F8 so as not to overexpose your subject. Try M if your camera has one, and use a faster shutter speed to avoid background clutter. As with topside photography, you use flash to light the foreground and adjust shutter speed to control the background.

And by the way, always zoom with your fins to avoid backscatter!

Regards,
Norman
