What exactly is bracketing? Please educate us who don't know much about it. Thanks in advance.

Bracketing - A sequence of pictures taken of the same subject but varying one or more exposure setting, manually or automatically, between each exposure.

Depending on what camera you are using, some DSLR's have automatic bracketing allowing one f/stop up or below. You can in fact vary the increments of the f/stop as you need them. I use them for shots that may be fleeting and quick, so you won't miss an opportunity.

Bracketing can refer to any sequence of pictures of the same subject with 1 varying parameter whether it is exposure, focus, white balance or some other parameter. Check this site (http://bracketing.circleofphotographers.com/) for more info.

From what i understand, Bracketing is simply taking a series of images at different exposure settings such as on exposure compensation, white balance and flash levels. It really depends on the camera your using when you are doing bracketing, since you are the one who controls how many images your camera will take at + or - levels...hope this helps...hehehehe...

Taking it a step further, this technique (links below) may help once you've achieved learning the bracketing procedure.
