Yes, I was in the middle of the battlefield. This was for a client program, I was able to sneak a few shots in while they were playing. Of course I was geared up.

The scariest part? Hoping that nobody shoots your camera! :-)

hmmm, looking at these scenes brings back memories.

i like the last shot the best - particularly the detail in her eyes.

i guess when all the shooting started, that's the time to take cover, huh? esp. for your camera's sake.

Hey Mark!!

Yup, last shot is my favorite as well. Actually, I was shooting in the middle of the shooting. Oh, the challenges of a war photographer... :-)

you shudda taken a shot of the mighty paintball "pantal" whoever got it. I had one before and it stayed with me for 3 weeks.

Lucky your camera didnt get hit. I think if youre gonna cover this kind of event, bring a diver's camera enclosure with you. I was not shooting before, but i know if they hit you in the head, the splatter will be all over since it hits something solid (face mask). If it hits fabric, it catches it (like you would a baseball with a baseball mitt) first before dispersing to the sides.

i guess you heard about what happened to mr. dy-liacco's nikon unit when he covered our group's paintball games.

even though he opted not to take battlefield shots, the elements got the best of his camera. it, unfortunately, rained that afternoon. and we all know what rain can do to your camera & equipment. hopefully columbia was able to fix up his gear.
