Hi guys. I'm going to Shanghai next week and I would like to inquire if there are any good camera shops there (like Cathay Photo in Singapore), and where they are located. Are the camera stuff cheaper there or here in the Philippines? Thanks in advance.

based on what i saw in shanghai, there are little options to buy places for cameras. plus it is much cheaper on the philippines. i've just got back home from shanghai. the place is like hongkong. meaning prices also seems a bit like hongkong. but yeah you can find cheaper things in shanghai, but camera's are abit expensive. my d40x alone cost about 20 percent higher there. and that doesn't include a 2 gig card, nor uv filter for your lens. plus... it'll be harder to buy if you're a foreigner, since they will take advantage of you, unless you but it on malls. but seriously... philippines is cheaper. i had to ask my cousin to buy it for me on the philippines and had it sent here in china, instead.

went to this shop in shanghai. its a multi level building that houses bnew camera equipment on the first two floors. next 3 floors are for used equipments. the last two levels are for studio equipments and printing services. prices are a little higher than hidalgo but the 2nd hand area is woth checking out. lots of used good quality equipment
