if it's out of warranty, be prepared to pay P1,300 for cleaning. if you play your cards right, you can haggle down to P350 :)

Hi,

do they clean all the internal parts of the camera or just the sensor?, I got dust inside the viewfinder, and smudge on the mirror.

You mentioned that you can haggle the price as low as P350, do you have tips on how I can do this. whehehe.

Thanks,
H

is Tiff Shau working on the service center also? I thought she is more on the marketing side ;) anyway, she is a kind lady and easy to talk to.

Hi,

How long does it usually take Canon to clean your camera/sensor?
Do they accept cleaning service during Saturdays?

I'm hoping it would not take more than an hour or two. :)

Thanks.

I just brought my camera at Canon Service Center in Shaw Blvd. early today. Since my camera is out of warranty already, they charge me 500 pesos for cleaning. The lady said it includes the sensor cleaning. They say it usually takes around 3 business days. They gave me the number of Canon's Customer Service to check if my camera is available for pick up already. They are open on weekends but im not sure if they accept works during sat or sundays.

Wow! really? It takes them 3 business days to clean everything? Tagal rin pala. I thought maybe you can just wait for it or come back after a couple of hours.

it depends on their workload. seeing the canon guys at work last thursday at the canon launch, camera/sensor cleaning takes less than 1 hour.

say you bring it on an extremely busy day, then it's definitely going to take some time to finish cleaning all those sensors, aside from all the other equipment they need to service.

besides, would you prefer them rushing to clean your sensitive cameras, or letting them check every nook and cranny?
