This is the same as xerox (although the more proper term as a verb is photocopy, but in any case is still used) or any other trademark that started as plain trademarks but in time, have ended up belonging to the English dictionary. Pretty soon, Photoshop may be used as both a verb and a noun.

At least that's how I see it. :)

i agree with erwin. it's being transformed into a "household" name. esp in the philippines like Colgate/toothpaste, xerox, kodak-an, etc.

it's actually more beneficial to them, free advertising - would they rather hear/read lines like: "They corel'd that image!"

imagine newbies hearing such lines as "it was photoshopped," which would end making newbies try Adobe Photoshop because they got curious as to what it can do.

also, i didn't hear kodak complain with phrases like "kodak-an mo naman kami o."
