Charles Borromeo 05-31-2007, 04:01 PM Yes please, can anyone share their experience in trying this kinds of adapters that allows you to mount a different lens? is it recommended? i suppose the auto-focus wouldn't work but how about the metering? any more disadvantages other than that?
i'm thinking of grabbing some cheap old Pentax lenses in eBay but i dont know if its worth the trouble. and oh i use canon system by the way.
Thanks very much
Charles.
bert dalusung 05-31-2007, 05:00 PM I use my old Zuiko lenses on my Olympus E-1 and with the proper adapter, Nikon glass will also work. This goes also for other Oly DSLRs.
Downsides:
1. Manual focus only.
2. Must use center-weighted metering, not ESP.
3. Must use Aperture Priority or Manual, not Program nor Shutter Priority.
4. After composing an image full aperture, you have to manually stop down the aperture to desired f/stop.

I think the new E-410 with the proper adapter can be a good choice for you then. The E-410 is about the size of the old Pentax film SLR.

well that's my plan as well to use my OLY lens to my canon Dslr. I still have 75-150 f/4 and the 50mm 1.8. im planing to sell my OM 10 and set of lenses, but if in case no one will be interested, I'll just use it instead:)
@ Mark, that's what make me think as well when I checked the website where you bought it. but the PRO version looks neat! was that the one you got? how long did it take for the shipping? I'm not really into on-line shopping =(
markglensantos 08-21-2007, 11:30 AM this is the one i bought link (http://www.fotodiox.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=4137) it took 2 1/2 weeks before the package arrived at our doorstep :D . But i ddnt bought it directly in their website, they also have postings on eBay thats where i bought it. :)
jopaw villarosa 09-06-2007, 12:21 PM if i have to go down an f-stop with aperture priority, means it'd be pointless to get a lens with a high aperture (ie. the f1.8s, etc) since i have to step down anyway?
