Hi All,
Please see link below on my initial test on the Sony A100. Wanting to see if it can replace my KM 5D for a bit faster AF amd more cropping allowance, primarily for birding purposes. Called Sigma U.S. today and my Bigma being repaired won't be back until 2 more weeks. This weekend, will test it with the old Minolta 100mm f2.8 macro lens.

i saw one on infomaxx megamall last wknd but i didn't bother to see the price coz i don't wanna be tempted. hehehehe.

Sorry, I was out for a while and I am based in California. Actually was released earlier sa HK, Malaysia, etc. earlier than in the U.S.

The A/S is working fine with me and I see it as a necessary feature in my birding - my style is hand held and I go anywhere/everywhere. I owned several Panasonic FZ series and also the Konica Minolta before that. Anyway, this A100 is still under test and not so sure yet whether a real replacement for my KM 5D. Here's my latest test shots in the link below with just the use of a 20 year old used Minolta 75-300mm lens.

the camera cost Php 70,000 for the body only, Php 83,000 for the body and the kit lens. kaya nagulat ako some people here saw the a-100 for only 65k

Body only costs P70,999. With 18-70mm kit lens, it's P82,999. The two-lens kit (with 18-70mm and 75-300mm) costs P96,999. These are SRPs. The package includes a P10,000 gift check for Sony accessories, P2,000 memory stick discount voucher and a photo printer discount voucher worth P5,000.

I am definitely interested as, at the moment, I have a Sony DSC707 and, while this is very good in many respects, I need to upgrade for professional reasons. I saw it advertised on a Singapore site and there were three packages - Body only, body plus one lens (prob 18-70) and body plus two lenses. The prices were in S$.
Would be interested to know where to buy and a confirmation of the prices

The prices are in the link I provided, but these are SRPs. Of course, knowing local dealers, one shouldn't expect the prices to vary much.

Sony gave away 10% discount vouchers for the package during the launch. I can give mine to anyone who's REALLY buying the A100.

Just wanna ask if there is still a KM5D sold back there. Back here in Manila Columbia pulled-out all the KM Cameras and accessories to Sony. I tried asking them if they are selling KM accesories but to no avail.

Sorry for late reply as I haven't been browsing this section lately. The KM 5Ds are not anymore in regular retails here and if ever, mostly on close out or sale. Ebay or Cameta cameras are still showing some bundles. Depending on accessories are really tough and Ebay is often the only outlet plus the used sites like KEH.com or used sections of Adorama or BHPhotoandvideo. What accessories are you looking for?
