hey guys, im still a die hard film user to date. (prettry much into it..actually getting crazy). film...yup from 4x5's, 5x7's up to 8x10's.

well, really dabbling in the so-called alternative process. that is (platinum/palladium prints). contact printing the final neg to the sensitized paper, then exposing to the sun.

but did you know that digitizing the negative (b&w film) give you fantastic results?

probably, hybernating film users should finally come out and explore the world of...Hey Nick T....what do you call it?....digital imaging? and see the sharpness, dmax merits of its output.

have you guys ever tried scanning an 8x10 or even a 4x5 negative.? really out of this world sharpness.

ill tell you about my upcoming exhibit soon. a combination of digital output prints. and alternative process-platinum and palladium contact prints. (all of course from large format negatives).

Hi Charlie! Welcome to the forum:Grin:

It's refreshing to see a forum member with a different take on photography. Merging the "old" with the new. Capturing images with in a very old fashioned way and printing the final image with the latest in technology...inkjet printing. I am totally amazed at how you can drive to the mountains for 4 hours, bringing your 8x10 view camera and only exposing 10 images. Metering the scene for the different tonalities to achieve the perfect zone, driving back home to your darkroom and processing your images in a jobo, and finally platinum printing your images under your uv box. Totally surreal in this day and age. I am pleased to hear though that you are finally interested in inkjet printing as another form of output for your masterpieces. I am sure you will be pleased:Grin: I am looking forward to your exhibit and I am sure the sharpness of your images "can cut like a knife"

Looking forward to seeing more of you on our forum and sharing your experiences and work as well:Grin:

Well well well. We finally got good old Charlie baby to join us. For our forum members, I'd like to mention that Charlie is one of the few professionals who have run the gamut in photography in this country. He has shot practically all formats, has run a successful wedding business for many many years, and has also exhibited his works.

So hopefully Charlie, you will share your experience with all of us here at DPP. Glad to have you here, finally.:)
