I started a thread in the FOTO CAFE regarding what kind of camera Spider-Man/Peter Parker uses (Canon F1n w/ AE Finder) which resulted in a current debate about what kind of Nikon did Eddie Brock used (D40x? D50? D70?). I thought we should have a thread on which movies Pentaxes appeared in. Right now, the only one(s) I can think of is Godzilla. I can't remember which one but I do remember seeing one of them where the bida had an SLR which had a Pentax strap.

Actually, Venom was using either a D40 or D40x. Remember, they showed a view through the Viewfinder... only 3 AF points. The D80 has 11 AF points. :)

Sa pagkahilig hilig ko sa movies ('am an unofficial movie critique!hehe ) wala akong maalalang nakitang Pentax sa mga napanood ko. This morning i was watching this movie "A lot like love" with Ashton Kutcher, he's a photographer there and he uses Canon.

pentax appears in Femme Fatale, Antonio banderas is seen using the PZ-1p with FA* 80-200 f2.8, MZ-5n, and a mock up of the digital Medium Format 645d. (even way back then, the movie is quite old) There is a scene where he shoots from a balcony and then immediately tethers his 645 to a mac and uploads.

also pentax *ist D appears in "The Man" with samuel jackson. a scene in the police station where they take mug shots.

Pentax also appears in HK action film "Internal Affairs" where surveillance is done using the FA* 250-600mm and im unsure which penax body

@ Mark...that's the line up I've been waiting to here. I'm not a movie fan unless it is Star Wars, Spider Man or a WW2 epic. Because I'm a Spidey fan, I know that Peter Parker's a photographer. I'm still looking at old Godzilla movies, I think the mid-80s version had a photojourn bida running around with a Pentax SLR.

The amount of Pentax cameras in that movie is RIDICULOUS. EVERYONE in that movie is shooting with a Pentax. And there are a lot of shots, during stakeouts and recon and so on.

Well I may have to say YES.. Meralco uses film in their operations!

maybe because it's not as easy to change the image that's already imprinted in the film.

I would suspect that, although I have never heard anyone say it should be film (FWIW, CSI uses digital; Nat Geo/Discovery Channel docus show 'real' CSI with film...but its either Hollywood or a dated reconstruction).

I do know of a painter who has to submit facimilies of his painting on slide (chrome) film (he's a Canon 350D user but uses a Pentax Spotmatic for shooting his paintings) because of the reason Roger gave.

Uy, the Fab Four (two are in the picture). The Beatles always use Pentax cameras especially when they are on road concert trips. There was a clip wherein while they were walking towards the stage at Rizal Track and Field stadium, they were taking pictures of their Pinoy fans. Unfortunately, the photographs they took got busted when they were manhandled at the old Manila International Airport by Imelda's rah rah boys and their cameras, per reports, destroyed and films exposed.

The Beatles were given Pentax cameras when they arrived in the USA in 1964, they were the premium black bodies.

From MOWOG a veteran Pentax photographer: I remember seeing a picture of the Beatles, all holding black SV or S1a cameras. They didn't even have to buy them! They were GIVEN to them by Asahi, for the publicity it would bring the brand.

That's the thrill of getting good pictures. You have to walk, run, walk to see the good angles (and angels above the floats :)). You should have seen him, guys, as if, Ronaldo had just finished a marathon run, full of perspiration but in his eyes, inspiration and satisfaction! :)

Looks more like 645N than 645D. Anyhow, she looks like a long time pentax medium format shooter with the attached FA645 300mm telephoto lens. My guess.

Not D, its an old picture taken 2007. Dont know the equipment ID. I was just walking along the white sands of Boracay looking for a good location for sunset shot when I spied on this lady. I just took the picture seeing the Pentax label on the lens. It was only when I went home and viewed the image that I noticed its a medium format camera.

By the way, she looks like a Korean to me.

Battle for f-stop ridge XD Cool vid, really. Though I think if they're gonna display Pentax on "piso-piso" shots, they could've at least put a long lens on it, to give it the "sniper" image (since I don't think there are any rapid-fire sniper rifles out there right?). XD

..if you notice.. the pentax was already abandoned...maybe because the owner got "shot" coz of the slow fps... or just left it in total disgust due to the the slow af:Grin:

That price is not bad at all considering that it's retailing between $800-900 in Amazon.

twas heavy like my k10d with grip + samyang 85mm. worth carrying in an eb to let everyone try but not the type you'd use for street bec of its size.

my k1000 was from ptr joey. haven't had it CLA'd as it still works as it's supposed to :).
