Hi All!

I will be shooting as a secondary photographer this weekend. I was wondering if you could share some rules/guidelines on how I should I work with the primary photographer. I just don't want to be taking the scene too much but still able to take proper / necessary shots. I would really appreciate anyone sharing their experiences (as a primary with some other secondary, or as a secondary photographer) related to this.

Thanks.

- introduce first yourself to the primary photographer, let him/her know that your there to be the secondary photographer.
- always look for a good and different angle from the main photographer, para you dont block him and di kayo magkapareho ng angle lang.
- mostly main photographer will lead, you take candid shots.

keep at least 5 meters from the main shooter. avoid him like the plague... be courteous and keep yourself in the background...

never get in the way of the main shooter.
don't duplicate the shots that the main shooter did, be creative in yours. look for more angles.
don't rapid fire like crazy.
let the main shooter always go first.

During portrait shoot:

1. Bear in mind that you are free to move around and find the best possible angle while the primary photog poses the subject/s. There are times the 2nd photog's shots are far more impressive than the primary photog's.

2. If you see the primary photog using a wide lens, use your telephoto lens, and vice versa.

3. Try to avoid excessive chikahan with the pretty wedding coordinator.

I guess a follow-up question would be: "Have you ever been annoyed by a secondary?"

Maybe you could tell us how it went. Thanks.
