hi!.. im a newbie.. i want to experiment on lightings, specifically studio lightings.. i have read a few about lighting thanks to some members of DPP for giving me the link to photoflexlightingschool.com.. anyway.. i want to make a home made softbox.. i want to use it for portrait pics.. im planning to make 2 of these.. my first question is, how many watts do i need for the bulb?.. wat kind of bulb to use?.. im also confused on wat color of the bulb to use.. on photoflexlightingschool they use a white colored bulb.. when do u use a white and a yellow light?.. ahmm.. i also notice that softboxes have different sizes.. is the large size the best for portraits?.. when do you use a strobe or a continuous light?..
can you give me suggestions on what to use in building this experiment using cheap stuffs?.. ahmm.. another.. whats the similarity and difference of an umbrella and a softbox?.. can i make an improvised umrella too? how?.. what kind of cloth can i use as a diffuser?.. im just confused because there are white clothes used as a reflector.. and what can be a good reflector, ordinary foil?..

im sorry if i have a lot of questions.. i just wanna learn.. i find it difficult just browsing over the net.. photographers here in naga are too busy to intertain me.. i hope some of you would have time to help me.. thank you!..

Why are you posting the exact same query in two different forums?

@ Admin

Please lock this thread. One should be sufficient enough.

@ Jonathan

Never mind where the pros are supposed to be. Pros don't necessarily know everything. Post it where people would know the answer or look for it. You should have posted it in the lighting forum :D
