i can't open the NEF files i took with my D200 in my macbook. i'm using adobe ps cs2. didn't encounter this problem with NEF files from my D2H.

can anyone shed some light on this? thanks!

btw, don't think it has to do with the file itself as i can open it in iphoto.

Dino, run an online update on your CS2 and ACR... That should solve the problem... Are you using any other Nikon application?

ok will do that thanks...and no i didn't install any nikon application (i do want to install nikon capture but for some reason they are looking for a certain file that is not in the CD installer...though that's another story)

was able to download the ACR plug-in ver 3.7...i can now open the NEF files! thanks earl! :)

Just download the latest version of Camera Raw plugin for Adobe Photoshop here: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html (you don’t need to be registered at adobe.com for it). Move the file Camera Raw.8bi from the archive to Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS2\File Formats\ Don’t forget to rename the old version there to Camera Raw.old (you can delete this file after you’ve successfully managed all these operations and your *.nef files open without any problems). Open Photoshop and test open a *.nef file
