On August 05, 2006 we will have our first Grand EB. The event is still in the works but hopefull it will have all that we talked about, like raffles from Axis Global and talks from various speakers and members of the group, and a good dinner!

Logistics and Planning are spearheaded by our very own Randy Rivera and Jim Pineda so if you guys have any suggestions, you can reach them anytime.

Philippines Magazine's Bella Luce Studio at Ground Floor, Alvion
Center, 110 Rada St., Legaspi Village, Makati, in front of Metrobank
Rada. Aug. 5 (Saturday) 5pm.

Jay already posted the mechanics for our 'Poetry in Water' Photo
contest. Do join and get the chance to have your photos published in
the DPP Mag's September issue. They allotted at least three to four
spreads for the winning pics!

We will have some refreshments during the EB all shouldered by Axis
Global. Some give-aways are likewise included.

Mr. Randy, I have informed Jim of this. Thanks for keeping the ball rolling..

We will introduce our comapny, the Oly models we carry and our line
of available accessories. DPP Mag, meanwhile will have a short
presentation on photoshop. I'm still finalizing with Jay if he can do
a short demo of the work-flow of digital photography with post prod
c/o Nino of DPP Mag. Will keep you posted.

Anyway, Thanks again sa lahat ng dumating. Di nga lang nagkaroon ng chance para magkakilala ang mga members ng 'groups' dahil packed na yung sked for the talks. Next EB na lang ang socialization at 'getting to know' activities. Congratulations also sa mga nanalo sa contest.

Pilar and Nino were also very accomodating. We also had a free tour sa studio (Bella Luce) nila. They were also very generous in giving tips too. Nino gave a crash course in using Photoshop. Jay also had an enticing talk about lighting. Likewise, the sponsor of the event, Olympus, had the rest covered, and Lex did a short presentation about Olympus and its products.

i feel so sorry for those who weren't able to attend the EB. it was an event, that's what it was. I feel so sorry for me :( Nino, don't you forget my EB giveaways when you come here! :D

I am glad to have met the Oly users in the First EB. Hope that Alex and his team in Axis will allow us to have a second one that will let us shoot. My thanks to those who attended.

How about some group shooting activity. We can do that ourselves, I guess. Actually, I've been doing that -- twice in the zoo, once in the rainforest park in Pasig (which sucks), the fireworks competition last December at the Mall of Asia, and twice at the breakwater in Manila Bay. I also went to Pampanga last February to shoot some balloons.

But what I'd like to do is to shoot at night but I'm afraid I'd get mugged! Does anybody know a photogenic location in Metro Manila for day and night photography? Thanks.

If we are to shoot in Intramuros, we need to secure a permit.

I was glad to attend the Olympus EB. Eversince i got my new E-500, my interest for photography has soared. Nino's tips are most helpful.. and Jay's talk on lighting was inspiring. I also got to talk to Alex personally.. glad to have met some people from Axis too. I'm looking forward to the next EB! More power to everyone.
