hey,

would like to ask what are the tools and rules used in retouching a grad pic? my friend is making me edit his for distribution to his frineds and thought id give him the works :) all i know is remove blemishes with spot healing, then marquee area for blurring (feather after), then smudge to blend with un-blurred areas and remove braces, then dodge to lighten cheeks and forehead area. plus, any suggestions on the removing braces and retainers? thanks a bunch :)

Hi Troy,

You can check this site out.

I'm not sure if your problem with the braces can be found here, but it has a lot of useful tips. Kinda long to read, but very helpful.

I've visited the site and I find it very useful. Reading and practising at the same time was the success factor. Thanks for this thread.:)

Hi Mark, I grabbed this disclaimer from that site...

"The tutorial is written for Photoshop 7 and higher, but some of the techniques that are shown in this tutorial or advice that is given, can also be useful for those who use older versions of Photoshop."
