Anybody who has been able to successfully update the firmware of their E-500 to v1.2?

I've been trying to do it since last night using the Olympus Master Software bundled with the camera but I kept on getting a "cannot connect to server" error. Updating the Olympus Master software however was successful.

Is there another way to update the firmware aside from using the Olympus Master software? Thanks!

Hi Charlie, unfortunately, there is no other way to do it. Maybe you should just try some other time. On the other hand, Master is as bad as everyone says. How about downloading Olympus Viewer or Studio and updating your camera through that.

charlie, that i've expereinced before. as what norman said, try updating at another time :D

the oly server's kinda under going changes right now to accommodate the new oly master 2.0. it should be ok by the end of the week.

Charlie, I have experienced that a few weeks ago. Tried it after a few days and I finally upgraded the firmware. Try and try until you succeed :)
