No Idea about the size of the X100 though I can say its definitely bigger than a NEX. Will this be MILC? Judging from the lack of a hump that it is though, how about a viewfinder then?

I'm sure it will have the same hybrid OVF and EVF principle as the X100.

a few more details…

Fuji will launch their own M bayonet adapter for Leica lenses.

Similar hybrid viewfinder like in the x100. The X-Pro 1 will have two optical degrees of magnification: x0.37 for wider lenses and x0.60 for the other lenses. This function will be controlled by the menu and can be set manually for third party lenses.

Magnesium alloy body, the upper and lower part will be made out of aluminum alloy.

It's not bad if you are just starting with photography or have not heavily invested with the other systems. You can get this camera with a 35mm f1.4 lens for the price of a Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VRII. Not that I am willing to give-up my heavy lens. :)

This are the lenses coming in 2012:

This are the lenses coming in 2013

"The X-Pro1 will be available in late February, but pricing is not yet set. Fujifilm indicates that the camera body will cost around $1,700 and that lenses will be priced around $650 a piece. These prices may change a bit based on exchange rates."

-that's about a hundred thousand for one kit.. I could get myself an x100+x10 combo with accessories in that price..

My question is how do you clean the sensor when dust bunnies starts to appear. The body and the lenses are not sealed and there is no filter on the sensor so, I guess extra care will be needed to clean the sensor. scary but the whole thing is just so sexy and the images it produces is so compelling..... I am not gonna visit this thread again, I will not subject myself to more temptations! hehehehe :D

Glenn Tuazon
01-11-2012, 08:48 AM
I know just about everybody is excited about this new camera and majority will be disappointed with the higher price tag which will make it out of their budget just to get a camera and a few primes.

I think if Fuji starts making more lenses including wide and long zoom lenses, it can tap in to the market and compete with Nikon and Canon. The limited number of lenses is a little deterrent to shift system but it would be a nice companion with our DSLR.

Sony is slowly getting there but not quite IMO.

OliverReyes

Geez this is one gorgeous and powerful cam. I already like the clean ISO performance of the Jpeg and raw engine of the x100. The Fuji X-pro is expected to be better. Good call to keep the pixels at 16mp to keep the noise low. :)

"Meanwhile, the company hinted the X-Pro1 will be accompanied by at least one less expensive model. The company says it sees the X-Pro1 as occupying a space above the level of current high-end mirrorless cameras, such as Sony's NEX-7, but below the level of Leica's full-frame, manual focus M9 rangefinder."

Good heavens!! Now this is something more interesting.. :D

pjflordeliz
01-13-2012, 09:53 AM
I never regarded small cameras with much respect until I toyed with my sis' NEX-5.
Man, it really performs well with high ISOs. With that i'm always on the lookout for newer cameras that surpasses capabilites of those earlier released bodies and planning to buy one that would probably be the best among them - to accentuate my current aps-c dslr. And small cameras are a joy! you can bring them anywhere, it's so weight-wise.

Now, this Fuji X-Pro1 made me drool  So perfectly beautiful in sleek piano black with a little metal here and there. And matching primes makes this camera hotter.
For me, it's the next best thing to a Leica which I have yet to acquire. Maybe in the next 10 years haha!

If only the price tag is a bit more tame, say $1500 for a body and 35mm i'd take one any day. No, not really any day but when my discreet 'camera fund' is completed.

Cheers!
