If you're willing to take the risk, go for henrys...if you want to have a peace of mind go to Columbia and get the D80.
jay_alonzo 02-23-2007, 01:30 PM There are plenty of stores in Hidalgo extending until Echague that sell video lighting equipment. visit them all and canvass prices. if you would like to be more specific, ask Wilson of Avenue Photo. There are a variety of wattages available from 500w to 1000w and higher. the higher the wattage, the more powerful the light output. Tell Wilson what you need it for. Call 733-2761.

Eligio S. Vino, Jr. 02-23-2007, 02:45 PM thank you sir jay and louie.
jay_alonzo 02-23-2007, 04:15 PM Btw, Eligio, I suggest that you post in the English language next time okay? This is for the benefit of our members here who can't speak or understand Filipino. that is also a rule here in DPP. Goodluck!
Eric Dino 02-24-2007, 03:45 AM Hi Eligio,
Good to know that you are taking the video of your daughter. I suggest you also buy a monopod or tripod aside from the Light Stand of your Red Head or Color Corrected Unomat Video Light since there will be times wherein you also have to be in the scene. It's difficult to be the videographer or photographer in our social events because in family gatherings, we are sometimes the one missing in our video or photos. Also train someone to be your assistant so that you can likewise eat and join in the celebration. Two (2) heads are better than one and it is advisable that we always shoot and work as a team.
Regarding the canvassing of video lights in Hidalgo, my brotherly advise for you is to avoid Mayer's Photo Supply. If you are not yet known by Mang Ramon and simply shopping for rates before you make your final decision that day, there is a big possibility that you will end up being humiliated and insulted by this guy.
Professional Courtesy and After-Sales Service is more important than getting the lowest price in the market. Wilson as what Jay said is very accomodating as well as Philip or Jomar of Watson Photo Supply and Letty of 24K. If you are considering getting the D80 from Henry's, talk to Nicholson, he is more accomodating and patient than his Dad. Last time I visited Quiapo, most of the shops there are selling grey units, if you want one with local warranty better get it from Columbia Digital Sales c/o JR or from Mr. Jerry Tieng. Until then. Happy Shopping and Have a nice Weekend.
Eligio S. Vino, Jr. 02-24-2007, 05:39 AM thanks a lot sir dino.
i got up early, i have to bring my car to otis for the warranty check-up, but honestly i'm still thinking which place to go for my first dslr hidalgo or mr. jr of columbia. after a long time, i have this feeling again, "the inner child in me" so excited to have his toy.
last night i wanted to share my pics here taken from my point and shoot canon A640, the problem is, i don't know how.
until then, time for my morning prayer.
again... thanks a lot.
Eligio S. Vino, Jr. 02-26-2007, 12:02 PM finally i bought my first dslr at columbia. the mother of mr. anderson, m.s. tan, gave me a good discount. the d80 kit price is 64,400 she gave me less 3% and minus one thousand. the one thousand is part of their promo. so i paid only 61,460 compared to the final quote of henry's 57,000. as sir eric dino said, i have my peace of mine because of the warranty. she also gave me free nikon camera bag. i also bought from columbia sb600.
got the chance to use it last night at the 35th foundation day of sto domingo parish, wow great color!
thanks again.
