We have Olive-backed Sunbirds in our islands too, but this couple is from Yishun area at neighboring Singapore. Both with the hand held 20D + 500 f4 IS, manual exposure, RAW in ACR...:)

Thanks, Marton.
TJ, sunbirds are all over the place there, and these are not as shy as the Pinoy ones.
It's best to catch them when they're feeding on flowering shrubs - you can kneel down to get them at eye level. Try to choose your BG - greenery separated a good distance from the bird will give you that creamy bokeh. I actually prefer to shoot them under overcast skies, as their contrasting plumage is easier to expose well.

Thanks, guys and gals for the kind comments...:)
Carlo, I wish I can say that I woke up 2 hours before sunrise, hiked several miles to a remote part of a lowland forest, then waited in my hide for hours to get this bird. But the truth is .... these birds are common and not so shy at SG. When I purchased my 500 f4 IS there, I took a walk one morning in the garden of the condo where I was staying, saw these birds feeding and just approached them....
