Does anyone here own or used one? Care to share some reviews about this one.. I'm planning to put up a photo booth business and I'm trying to consider the cost and quality of printers then someone told me to get this printer. Is it good? Is it compatible with photo booth softwares?

TIA

Jed,

If you're looking at this type of printer, you may want to consider the later variant (6850) since there are some media issues (4" wide vs 6" wide roll paper). I suppose you're looking at a pre-owned printer? Best to check on the number of prints made, since the thermal heads on these (and all dye sub printers) have a limited life and are considered "consumable".

The 6800/6850 series printers have optimized to work with the Kodak kiosk, and this gives you a full WYSIWYG color rendition of what you see on the screen. I recall it prints a pic every 6 seconds or so - dry. Not really ideal for 'unlimited prints' na photo booth :) It's also a few years old, so it's getting long on the tooth.

The Kodak disty (Techtrends 810-0334) should be able to give you more details should you wish to pursue. Am sure they can arrange a demo for you, using their latest printers.

After several months of waiting, someone replied. :)) Thank you sir Edwin for the detailed reply regarding this printer, unfortunately the owner(my uncle) flew to New Zealand a week after I posted this so there's no more chance to acquire it. It was being sold at a really affordable price but then again, I wasn't so sure about this printer which is why I bought the Canon Selphy for my photobooth which I find nice and quick.

Thanks,

Jed
