adrianrodriguez 09-02-2011, 10:33 AM wishful thinking:Grin:
This will crash my plans of getting an XBOX360....:D
David Tong 09-02-2011, 10:45 AM 600 USD est street price, i think that's fair... After all, it's a niche product.
bryanvcpalacio 09-02-2011, 12:41 PM after having used an X100 for 3wks(thanks to a generous friend) i was really hoping there's a cheaper version of it... prayers have been answered:D
felicianolegara 09-02-2011, 03:23 PM 600 USD est street price, i think that's fair... After all, it's a niche product.
@David: sir David, if the rumored street price were true, please include me in your Cathay photo reservation.. ^_^
romzLopez 09-02-2011, 03:57 PM thats roughly 25-26K Php.... hmm, might really be a good Christmas this year for me :)
bobet_aguila 09-02-2011, 04:55 PM i'll convince my wife that her GF1 is already too old for her.. :)
Katrina Pangan 09-05-2011, 12:12 PM Now I know what I want for Christmas! Woot Woot!:Evil::Grin:

Clemn A. Macasiano, Jr. 09-05-2011, 01:52 PM @ David X10 works for me ... :)
ernie_monzon 09-05-2011, 02:37 PM focal length range is exactly the same as olympus xz-1... but with the use of 2/3" image sensor, giving it a slight edge over the LX5/XZ-1 :)
Katrina Pangan 09-05-2011, 07:47 PM Check out the promotional video.. Mouth watering

mikevicencio 09-20-2011, 01:31 AM can't wait for this too! any confirmed release date and price yet?
David Tong 09-20-2011, 09:23 AM Nope, no news about release date yet, not even launch date...
jonas r. rugas 09-23-2011, 10:45 PM hmmmm....im still waiting also for the release date...sonner the better :)
Adrian Atanacio 09-26-2011, 07:42 PM Only question is i find the aspect ratio of the sample images wierd they are not 3:2? or is it just the samll view of the embedded player?
David Tong 09-26-2011, 07:56 PM it's the usual switchable 2:3/3:4/1:1/16:9
read the first post attachment
Adrian Atanacio 09-29-2011, 09:40 PM Oh, which has the bigger sensor? This or the new Nikon CX format?
Adrian Atanacio 10-07-2011, 09:30 PM 1inch sensor pala ang NIkon CX, 2/3 inch ang x10
Anthony Castro 10-08-2011, 11:51 AM Retail price finally announced! $599.95 available early November sweet! :)
http://www.dpreview.com/news/1110/11100710fujifilmx10price.asp
Cheaper than I thought it would be but still no official sample shots...
jamiesolivas 10-13-2011, 03:12 PM Guys, how do you think the x10 will fare against its alleged rivals (Canon Powershot G12, Nikon Coolpix P7100, Olympus XZ-1 & Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5)? How would you rank all 5 shooters?
David Tong 10-13-2011, 03:56 PM IMO, it's primary competitor would be the XZ1 and LX5, but if you throw pricing into the equation, the Nikon 1-series and Olympus E-PM/PL3 are major factors as well.
Not having a review unit or production unit available, it'll be kinda silly to rank them don't you think?
jamiesolivas 10-13-2011, 05:05 PM I was just thinking in terms of specs. In any case, I hope that as soon as anyone gets a hold of it, this thread will be brimming with answers.
ricsimboljr 10-20-2011, 11:53 PM Just sharing this recent "DigitalRev Style" review of a preproduction X10 :) hilarious but tastefully done with matching accent!

That was quite enjoyable! Great job and the accent seemed spot on. After that review, I know where I'm spending my bonus. :)
David Tong 10-21-2011, 06:06 PM Haha, good job, but repetitive tone hehe... :D Still not as good as Kai, the Hongkee Clarkson :D
ricsimboljr 10-22-2011, 12:39 PM haha! It is fun to watch and can't wait to see what the "real" Kai will do for his X10 review.
Super excited about the X10! Skipped a lot of M43rds before and was close to getting the big brother X100. Glad I waited for this and hope that Fuji will not disappoint.
Hopefully, more web/video reviews will come out as the product starts to get rolled out to different regions. Woohoo!
Raise your hands if you are getting one? :P
David Tong 10-22-2011, 07:39 PM After playing with the E-PM, the Oly is mighty small with all the m4/3 goodies... Not in the same market as the X10, but very hard to split the two up if you're after a small backup.
den_lim 10-24-2011, 06:20 PM Which do you think would be better for shooting kids (photo/video)? The x10 or the E-PM1? I need a DSLR replacement for school programs and such.
David Tong 10-24-2011, 06:52 PM Den: An interchangeable lens EPM would be a better choice for your needs due to lens availability.

Adrian Atanacio 10-26-2011, 08:11 PM Any idea how we can get a hold of one locally in the PH?

den_lim 10-26-2011, 09:56 PM saan itong photo? local?
got to play around with the x10 here in hk. sadly, the language was in chinese so i could exactly fiddle with it much. also bantay na bantay ang may-ari ng shop. also, no stock, just demo unit, i.e., shop owner's personal display unit.
photo quality wise, parang lx3/5.
sorry, but wasn't able to test it more in depth

That's EXACTLY how their displays are here in SG as well hehe.
den_lim 10-27-2011, 11:06 AM hello. the e-pm1 is out of my list of choices. seems it has the same problem as the nex 5n -- video clicking.
hmmm. baka balik x10 ang sights ko.

edricbelerma 11-01-2011, 12:59 AM Hi Guys, hands on preview of DPReview:
http://www.dpreview.com/previews/fujifilmx10/
Adrian Atanacio 11-02-2011, 05:52 PM I found a FLickr Set containing test/sample images. Real world shots btw. Lots of low-light examples as well. Drool time my friends. http://www.flickr.com/photos/minami/sets/72157627886371769/with/6294362995/
daniel go 11-03-2011, 08:49 AM I-----want-----one!!!!!!!!
David Tong 11-03-2011, 10:35 AM Hehe, 2 weeks later, Dan will start a Fuji X10 Photo Sharing thread...
daniel go 11-03-2011, 10:38 AM David, hahahahaha we will see. The X10 ain't even landed here yet hehehe :D
David Tong 11-03-2011, 10:49 AM Like that ever stopped you before bud! Hhehehehehe
daniel go 11-03-2011, 12:24 PM Hehehehehe
Adrian Atanacio 11-03-2011, 05:17 PM Imma take a walk around Hidalgo tomorrow and ask around which shops will stock them here. Just found out you can do in-camera RAW processing in this thing and stilll have presents like film simulation modes applied when shooting RAW and in the final processed JPEG. So far ISO 800 looks great I haven't found any ISO 1600 above samples yet.
jamiesolivas 11-03-2011, 06:02 PM Adrian, do please keep us posted on the shops. I also intend to pounce on the first stock of this camera that will land on our shores. :)
carlo_rubio 11-03-2011, 09:01 PM The camera was larger than I thought. It's also pretty bulky, but it has a nice kind of bulk, a "sturdy" kind of bulk, if that makes any sense. The texture was really good, it really felt expensive. It was so nice to touch hehe. They weren't kidding, for a "compact" camera it has a nice large and bright optical viewfinder. Not surprisingly though, at the widest end the barrel of the lens somewhat obscures the frame. I was so tempted to sneak in my own memory card and take some test shots but the store clerk was guarding the cameras tightly. I'm curious to see how much this camera will retail for here.
Adrian Atanacio 11-03-2011, 09:45 PM Hi Carlo, where did you get to try it out?
carlo_rubio 11-03-2011, 09:47 PM Oops! Sorry I forgot to mention, out of excitement of being able to try it out. I was able to try it out in a store called (I'm not sure though) Camera Experts in Times Square in Hong Kong.
mark corpuz 11-06-2011, 07:05 AM preordered from adorama!!hopefully it doesn't get backordered before i get mine...
JM Tiongson 11-07-2011, 05:28 PM Here's a review from the real Kai.
http://www.youtube.com/user/DigitalRevCom?blend=1&ob=4#p/u/0/GdI_bjQrhX8
Adrian Atanacio 11-07-2011, 08:55 PM Gonna take that Hidalgo ask-around walk tomorrow. Hope it bears favorable results.
Adrian Atanacio 11-08-2011, 08:41 PM Out of all the stores I asked (Which was pretty much evryone except Mayer's) only Henry's confirmed they would carry this little beauty and quoted it somewhere around PHP 30k which is way more than the $600 suggested retail. Better wait til' black friday and order online.
jamiesolivas 11-09-2011, 09:57 AM Awww.. I think my heart just broke. When will Henry's start selling though?
jonas r. rugas 11-09-2011, 05:20 PM yeah sir adrian, do you have any idea when this pretty camera's available in hidalgo?
Mikko David 11-10-2011, 08:15 AM FUJI X10 at New Sankyo - HK$ 6,000
jamiesolivas 11-10-2011, 09:31 AM Hi Mikko, does it come with a free 16GB card and leather case? I read somewhere that FujiSG will bundle the unit with a card and leather case for SGD999, which is roughly same as HKD6000.
felicianolegara 11-10-2011, 10:17 PM guys, if you happen to know fidji.. she's on sale for an x10 already.. I don't know if it's allowed to mention other forums here. but just so to let you know that the price is 32,000
David Tong 11-11-2011, 01:45 AM SGD999 with 16GB SD... just available today to wait-listed buyers...
What's amusing was... When it was 'out of stock' in Amazon, the price was 699USD, now that it's in stock, the Fuji X10 is $20 more...
Still a good deal especially the deal underneath with an extra batt and SD.
jonas r. rugas 11-11-2011, 10:31 AM Hi Feliciano, is fidji a filipino seller? thanks
felicianolegara 11-11-2011, 11:05 AM Hi Feliciano, is fidji a filipino seller? thanks
yes sir jonas, she is..
jonas r. rugas 11-11-2011, 12:23 PM yes sir jonas, she is..
Do you have email or phone contacts? thanks sir
jamiesolivas 11-11-2011, 06:02 PM Hi Feliciano, I'm also interested in her email/phone contacts.
I called YKL, they said they will probably start getting the stock by end of November and will be selling at Php33.6K. Not clear though if this price covers the "bundle" (SD card+brown leather case).
jonas r. rugas 11-11-2011, 06:44 PM Hi Feliciano, I'm also interested in her email/phone contacts.
I called YKL, they said they will probably start getting the stock by end of November and will be selling at Php33.6K. Not clear though if this price covers the "bundle" (SD card+brown leather case).
33.6k? that's too pricey, hhmm but i really love to own the camera and last quarter of nov is too far...hope sir feliciano can share the contact with us so we can start shooting :)
Adrian Atanacio 11-11-2011, 07:19 PM They told me they'd recieve stocks around December. It seems that even if the release was November it was only for pre-ordered units. Personally I'd like to hold and test something out first before spending on it. Its possible I might not like the menu system or other random stuff about the camera however unlikely that may presently seem.
jamiesolivas 11-11-2011, 09:48 PM 33.6k? that's too pricey, hhmm but i really love to own the camera and last quarter of nov is too far...hope sir feliciano can share the contact with us so we can start shooting :)
Agree. In fact, the actual selling price everywhere is so far off the SRP of $599. But I'm really digging this camera. :) And if the price of 32K (by fidji) already includes the leather case and SD card, I'm inclined to buy. :D I'm thinking also of asking a friend from SG buy for me, but wouldn't there be problems in terms of warranty?
felicianolegara 11-11-2011, 10:59 PM guess it's a rival forum.. not sure though. that's why i'm hesitant to post it here.. but if you guys know what i mean about the rival forum, then check out its sale section there for "other systems". hint: the forum is for Pinoys. ;D
you'll find fidji there..
Rey Subaran 11-12-2011, 08:23 AM Hi Feliciano, I'm also interested in her email/phone contacts.
I called YKL, they said they will probably start getting the stock by end of November and will be selling at Php33.6K. Not clear though if this price covers the "bundle" (SD card+brown leather case).
Available already here in Malaysia at RM2050 (about Php28,000)
with 8gb SD card & original case), you can PM me if you are interested
Adrian Atanacio 11-13-2011, 03:10 AM Got in touch with YKL as well, I got a quote of 33.5k with an 8Gig SD card, no case afaik. Rey's deal seems very tempting.
jamiesolivas 11-21-2011, 07:19 PM Is there a shop in SG where I can order the fuji x10 online, and they will deliver for free to an address within SG?
bobet_aguila 11-21-2011, 08:25 PM X10 is selling like hot cakes here in Dubai. All the initial 3 units in all Grand Store outlets (5 stores) I've inquired have been sold out within a week after it has been released.
James Carlo Enriquez 11-27-2011, 11:35 AM All stocks seem to have been wiped out. Tried to order online in Adorama and Amazon, quoted 3 weeks lead time.
So frustrating =(
adrianrodriguez 11-28-2011, 11:19 PM damn, I wonder what's my leadtime if I order one while in the US next year? :D (calling koya spammy)
Nikko Lim 11-29-2011, 03:56 PM 5,300 HK$ sa HK. Can't wait! :D
Clemn A. Macasiano, Jr. 11-29-2011, 10:04 PM 5,300 HK$ sa HK. Can't wait! :D
It's out of stock
David Tong 11-30-2011, 01:21 AM Back to 599 on amazon (http://amzn.to/tlK9Js) with stock.
bobet_aguila 11-30-2011, 02:38 AM although lots of stock here in Dubai, but the price's too expensive.. 3000 Dhms = 34,500 Php
Momon Baula 11-30-2011, 11:25 AM is there anyone locally who will allow for a meet and greet with the x10?
i am interested in one but i need to have some playtime with it, even for a few minutes..i already own an xz-1 and am super happy with it but im also a fuji fan and don't mind owning 2 small compacts..:)

romzLopez 12-01-2011, 10:30 PM ^ i have read about that as well. meaning, you need to use the LCD if shooting wide angle shots unless youre not bothered by the lens part while looking at the VF (which is a bit tough :()

nice shots, sir! any idea where we can get (locally) the official fuji lens hood for this pretty toy?
miltonuy 12-04-2011, 10:36 AM Sorry sir, but the accessories are hard to find right now. Maybe try eBay.
bobet_aguila 12-04-2011, 08:01 PM nice shots, sir! any idea where we can get (locally) the official fuji lens hood for this pretty toy?
lens hood for Fuji X10? I think there's no way you can attach a lens hood to the X10. When the lens is set to OFF, the whole lens barrel retract inside the zoom ring.
ricsimboljr 12-05-2011, 10:37 PM I tried the unit yesterday. At 28mm focal length part of lens blocks the view finder. It's a negative thing of X10
If i'm not mistaken, this is the same with the X100 as well when shooting at the wider focal length. I think it just takes getting used to with these compact viewfinder or similar to the rangefinders in the past. I wasn't comfortable with it at first when I tried the X100 before and i'll expect the same from the X10. Still dreaming of this camera! :)
Rolando Ballesteros 12-06-2011, 10:43 AM yeah its no big deal. just use your eyes, street photography style. once you previsualize your composition, it registers in your brain. no need to see it perfectly composed in the viewfinder. :)
Rolando Ballesteros 12-06-2011, 10:48 AM I want one for the holidays but out of stock in HK. SRP is HK$4,888.
John Co 12-06-2011, 10:58 AM I want one for the holidays but out of stock in HK. SRP is HK$4,888.
Wow, that would be a sweet deal. Does it come with SD card? Where in HK did you check? Try Wing Shing.
Clemn A. Macasiano, Jr. 12-06-2011, 10:30 PM I had a reservation last week. Now it's in my hand ..... :) Few units arrive only 4 allocated to them. Same when I check with Cathay Photo in singapore 2 days ago 4 units but it's a bit pricey in Singapore.

This is the Fuji-original lens hood for x10 (please see last item on the page) http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/accessories/lens/
Don't know how it works though, and right now I'm strapped for cash so I can't buy one even if it's already available in the local gray market. Would love to get one as a Xmas gift, though
bobet_aguila 12-14-2011, 08:41 PM oh sorry. my bad. so there's really a X10 hood. i stand corrected. thanks jamie..

Hi Peter. I think this is a perfect companion for casual point and shoot type. I couldn't restrain myself and purchased one before my toy funds is empty.
The bad news is that it won't be here before Christmas; maybe New Year. :)

Glenn Tuazon 12-22-2011, 01:41 PM Thanks Peter. I chose the Fuji X10 over the Sony NEX 5n due to the built-in hot shoe, and optical view finder. The other features that I wanted such as the f2-f2.8 zoom lens, RAW format, HD video and manual zoom feature sealed the deal for me. Good thing that Amazon still had some in stock since most online retailers are already out of stock.
Quick question: Can the Nikon speed lights (SB 900 / 800) work on other modes or just in manual mode?

Unfortunately.... They don't. But I'm also thinking of just getting the GN42 Fuji flash, since it's actually alot cheaper in Amazon than the smaller GN20.
Glenn Tuazon 12-22-2011, 03:11 PM Hi Peter. This guy on Flickr posted that his SB 600 worked with his Fuji X10 in manual mode which is one of the reasons why I got the X10. The speed lights also worked on the Fuji X100 in manual mode from what I have read.

Yup, that's what I meant since you asked if it works other than in manual mode... I answered nope. Since we can just use Manual mode on our SB's with the X10. :)

Great! Thanks for the clarification Peter. I also read that the SB 700/ 800/ 900 will work in SU 4 mode. My camera was just shipped today, so that will take at least 7 days before I get it. :(

I think you can identify that when you track the package.

Glenn Tuazon 01-03-2012, 03:12 PM I wonder how many members have this camera already? In due time, many people will have this once the supply meets the demand.
Glenn Tuazon 01-03-2012, 03:29 PM Are there any cheaper leather cases other than the Fuji X10 that cost a little over $100 USD? The original one is pretty nice with felt liner. I'm not sure I need it since I just place mine in my jacket pocket.

daniel go 01-03-2012, 05:04 PM Gariz is great, I had one before when I still owned the X100 and it was the best half-case I've ever used as it has direct access to the battery and SD compartment :)

You will encounter that sooner or later... but don't worry about it too much. Unless you really like pixel peeping at 100% magnification. Or shoot light bulbs and xmas lights all throughout the day, then you need not worry hehe. 99% of the time those orbs don't pose any distraction to the images. But it's true, it's indeed there.

Peter Jaena 01-04-2012, 10:04 PM Peter, is it still possible to put on a lens cap with the hood on?
Yes, but not with the cap that came with the X10.... we got a generic 58mm pinch cap, it's actually visible on my shot above. It's a perfect fit on the lip of the lens hood. :)

Glenn Tuazon 01-10-2012, 10:56 AM Daniel - I've been using this product as a substitute for lock washers. It prevents any screw from becoming loose. The shutter button can still be removed after you apply it unlike the crazy glue or other similar products.
I am more concern of loosing the button since it can be easily unscrewed with very little effort from the camera.

Daniel - the focusing was surprisingly good and you can easily zoom in and out just like when shooting stills.
Your camera is similar or probably the same as this guy's camera that I took last year. Such a classic.

Sir James, Very nice. Did you use any filters? :)
jamiesolivas 01-26-2012, 07:29 PM Hi Daniel (Thanks for adding me on flickr, btw)! Nope, no filters. In fact, other than cloning out some trash in the sand and adding the text, both pictures are SOOC. Oh, and please, call me Jamie, I'm definitely no "Sir." :))
Peter Jaena 01-26-2012, 07:29 PM because i already have an SB400 :)
SB-400 is an all automatic speedlight... there's no manual power control. So it can't be used on the X10.
Glenn Tuazon 01-26-2012, 07:40 PM i guess it would be in perfect combination with an SB400 too. :)
I'm not sure if you can control the output on the SB400. I've read some reviews about the Fuji but like the SB 400, it's just more powerful than the fill flash. Many recommends the full size but you just have to deal with the larger size but you get full metering.
Glenn Tuazon 01-26-2012, 07:43 PM Nice sunset Jamie. :)

yeah, i think the output of sb400 is uncontrollable with other models aside from D40. i guess peter's suggestion is much better so i can enjoy iTTL too. thanks :)

Yup, but it's alot bigger na.... I was torn between function and portability. I chose the latter for my purposes. Already have big Nikon speedlights I can attache to my Nikon P7000 if I wanted to have that combo. :)
